Cricket Australia apologises as tweet referencing England spinner Monty Panesar sparks online backlash
CRICKET Australia has become embroiled in a second racism scandal within a week.
The association has been forced to issue an apology after sending a tweet concerning English left-arm spinner Monty Panesar.
CA's official Twitter account published an image of bearded fans - apparently of Indian heritage - wearing turbans and dressed like characters from the children's TV show Teletubbies.
Panesar, a Sikh of Indian descent, is also bearded and wears a black patka, a smaller version of the full Sikh turban.
The text alongside the image read: "Will the real Monty Panesar please stand up?!".
The tweet was later removed and the following message was tweeted by CA: "We apologise for any offence caused with our previous tweet. That tweet was certainly not our intention. It has been removed."
Watson now has 21 half centuries and just 3 centuries , averaging 36 in tests.
^ Watson has never lived up to his perceived potential.
Runs ticking over nicely now.
Nope. I think this series may be the last chance saloon for him. His batting does not warrant automatic selection and his bowling , although handy , is not good enough to be selected for either. It's the selectors obsession with having all rounders in the team that allows him to keep his spot.
Formidable total already..looking dire for England
^ yep. Nice recovery. Bailey showing his worth finally and also keeping his promise to go after Swann.
Yes, the convicts have had a pretty good day with the bat thusfar. Close day, but I'd say, at this moment, that the Aussies just have it...Quote:

400 plus down to mid 300's now.
Good news, still time to turn the day our way.
But, a 50 from Bailey is decent from an average middle order guy; if they all got that every innings, you'd be pleased enough...
Anything over 300, which the Aussies will obviously get, sees them firmly planted in the game...
My posts seem to be jinxing our batsmen. Think I should keep quiet for a while.
3 dropped catches now.
Not a good look.
yers..Quote:

Three catches down, 2 good catches, would've been nice to get more, but can't grumble too much. The Aussies just ahead if no more (wickets..) go tonight?
"Ian Botham was a brilliant catcher, he wouldn't drop difficult ones but he'd only drop cuckoos, and he'd always make excuses like someone moved."

Who else but Boycott... Even his compliments are insults... :)
Thats it for today. 5/273
Just in Oz's favour I reckon, England will be ruing those missed chances. 8 for 270 looks a lot better.
Hmmm - all still to play for.
Make some predictions, Wally; you've worked wonders today...
:smileylaughing:
fair day's play
Honours even but the pitch is dry and I would hate to bat last on this pitch.
Englands odds on winning have gone out, so the bookies don't give them much chance.
What a fantastic venue adelaide looks.
The update looks great.
Would love to go there for ashes and a few barossa valley samplings. The place looks like it's just about got the lot
But did 9 go on about about the scoreboard a tad or what?
Guess it's the closest they've got to history, tbf.
Non retards.Quote:
