Should be good to see England play a rejuvenated Windies team.

A great declaration by Aussie skipper Clarke sees Australian with a great chance to win the first test against the West Indies.

Clarke allowed the W.I to take a first innings lead but his bowlers have them at 5 for 71.

A great final day's test Cricket coming up.

Indeed, an awesome tail wag to get us within spitting distance of the target, now some mighty fine early bowling.

Another great win for the Aussies and this new look West Indian team look the goods and for the future .

What a fabulous Test match. It was gritty, attritional stuff for three and a half days then sprung into life with wickets and this scramble of a run chase to get Australia home.

Remember where we were? West Indies with runs on the board and 150 ahead with only two wickets to take in the Australia first innings. But those last two wickets added 121 and turned the game. Michael Clarke declared behind and ran through West Indies who crumbled for 148.

192 was needed on this final afternoon, the only real question was whether the light would hold, remarkably it did until 5.45 and although Australia lost flurries of wickets, Shane Watson's 52 and Michael Hussey's 32 - who batted so magnificently under pressure - saw the tourists home.

West Indies must be absolutely gutted. They were in charge of the match but allowed it to slip out of their grasp and to be honest, played pretty ordinary cricket for the last day and a half. Collapsed under pressure with the bat in the second innings and in the run chase they were too negative, gave Australia easy runs and didn't create enough pressure. What might have been for them...

The second test between the Windies and the Aussies starts today.

If it is half as good as the first test it will be a cracker.

Another tough batting wicket with the Aussies being restricted to 208 for 5 on the first day of this test.

That's stumps then. We have done good time today, considering the near 10-minute rain delay at lunch. A hard-fought day. It's the kind of frustrating pitch where if you begin batting without thinking of scoring, it's difficult to get you out. And equally as a bowler you know it is tough to time the ball, and runs can be kept down. The real hard work arrives when you have to produce those wickets or runs. West Indies have produced five wickets, Australia 208 runs. An even day, I'd say, considering West Indies have to bat last, and this pitch will begin to help the bowlers more as the game progresses. Shillingford's comeback - 32 overs for 56 runs and two wickets - and Watson's fifty against aggressive character will be the highlights of the day. Australia will be frustrated Watson couldn't convert it, West Indies will be frustrated they dropped Hussey.

Looks like the Aussies have clawed their way on top on a very difficult batting wicket which is getting worse day by day.

Stumps officially called. Covers coming on. Another gripping day of cricket. I have lost count of how many times batsmen - from either side - played and missed. There is a lot going for the bowlers on this pitch now. West Indies would have been pleased with their work in the field, taking five remaining wickets for 103 runs, but Australia have attacked them ruthlessly, opening with spin and attacking fields, and taking out three wickets. Australia clearly ahead right now. Not the least because West Indies have to bat last on this pitch. West Indies will need something big from the pair in the middle.

West Indies 9 for 252 with Australia 59 runs ahead on the first innings.

That's stumps. What a session for Australia. Grim faces in the West Indies balcony, smiling ones under the baggy greens. West Indies fought and fought for the best part of today, Chanderpaul and Deonarine added 130 for the fifth wicket to put them in a position of strength, but then an all-too-familiar collapse followed. From 230 for 4 they have gone to 252 for 9, still 59 behind. All five wickets went to Lyon in a spell of 9-4-16-5. Australia, like last evening, hold the aces again, especially with West Indies having to bat last here.

Well if he scores another 30 odd runs he will become ther second highest run scorer in test history.

No wonder you Poms hate him so much.

Australia again struggling on a bowler's wicket in the third test.

At present 8 for 251 and lucky to have achieved that score due mainly to some dropped catches by the Windies.

West Indies 3 for 75 still 253 runs behind Australia's first innings score.

The wicket is a spinners paradise.
