At a time when clubs removing concessions for pensioners and kids attendance is becoming an elite activity, while nost have access to Sky at home or pub, it can never be the same as being there.
When I attended many London clubs as a lad anyone could afford a ticket in the stands for first level soccer, I regularly kicked about at Charlton, Palace ,Hammers , Spurs, QPR and my own team Chelsea where I cannot recall exact figure but was similar to a packet of cigs or a pint around 6 bob, only a few sat in those days, directors boxes etc. The only limit was capacity and crowds over 50k were common for big derbies, probably over safety capacity around teh track at the Bridge
Today pooer kids couldn't possibly attend regularly and probably never at the leading Premiership grounds ! Arsenal's cheapest season ticket now over a grand!
At the old stadium where most stood largest attendance ever at Stamford Bridge was 82,905 for a Chelsea–Arsenal match on October 12, 1935.
All seater stadiuns have reduced capacity by c20k at many clubs
