Who are the favourites?
I enjoy watching this, but I am generally slightly bemused as to why they stick with 6 nations.
The likes of Romania and Georgia have national rugby teams, so why aren't these invited? This could perhaps then become almost like a European Championships of rugby with the extra TV revenue potentially helping to improve such weaker sides in the future.
Probably because the brand name is strong. They’re better off kicking the eye-ties out and taking in Georgia.
Ireland to win it.
Ireland’s and France’s complaints not heeded as Six Nations introduces controversial red card law for 2025 Championship
The controversial 20-minute red card is one of several law amendments which will be trialled in the upcoming men’s and women’s Six Nations Championship.
It will be used in the competition for the first time after it was implemented in the Autumn Nations Series in November 2024.
Despite not being officially taken on as one of World Rugby’s global law trials at the start of January, with a decision being deferred until later this year, the Six Nations have decided to bring it in for the 2025 tournament.
The law, which enables teams to replace a red-carded player after 20 minutes for non-serious foul play, was previously rejected by the Champions Cup.
A contentious law in the north
Six Nations organisers have taken a different view, however, despite previous objections by some of the competing nations, such as France and Ireland.
“Across the game, everyone is working together to ensure we are exploring new and innovative ways to make the game as safe as possible, alongside ambitions to enhance the spectacle for fans, and the experience for players,” Six Nations chief of rugby Julie Paterson said.
“The Autumn Nations Series was a great case study for the progress that is being made, and it is going to be incredibly exciting to see this continue and evolve through the Six Nations Championships.
“The law trials and innovations being introduced are intended to enhance the experience for fans, but they are also there to clarify areas of the game for teams, coaches and players, while supporting match officials, with a spotlight the vital role they play at the centre of our sport.

Might take a look at IRE - ENG this weekend if the stars align.
The introduction of the twenty minute red card rule is long overdue. It's been very successful in the SH for years, should have been in place for the last RWC. The current laws punish the viewers who paid to see a 15 v 15 game. New law still punishes the offending player while keeping the contest.
Some people think it don't, but it be.
Next weekend. Just saying.
*I made the same mistake.

D'oh!
Right, you are.

Wales just sacked their attacking coach. Guess they just spend their time defending![]()
I don't care who wins, as long as its not the Poms.![]()
Well I'm sure publicans will be happier about so many England games NOT being on at 3am when they can't show them.
Last year was crap.
*** LJs LiveOnSat Rugby Union on TV
13 mins in and although Wales will lose its still 0 0
Hmm this could get messy. I didn't follow Wales last year as I'm ao disgusted with the state of the union there coupled with the selection rules. Its not looking good this year and starting against players who play in the strongest league it's going to be tough. They will run riot 2nd half.
I can't watch any more. This is not Wales I spent 50 years supporting. It's like watching Italy in 2001. Sad to see. And for the game.
28-0 at half time for anyone interested
^ its a great game now i've changed channels
Scotland doing a number on Italy, as predicted.
19-6 HT
Gibson Park's wonderful body swerve shame about the failed conversion, flappin off the outside like myself.
A good game so far and a fair score at the break.
All still to play for
Superb equalizer from Kiwi Hibernian Bundee Aki aka McMaori, missed convesion again to draw level with 25m to go, then a penalty give Ireland lead 13-10 for first time
Fabulous game, and the Mighty mean in green take the win.
27-22
