Given we ended up with precisely none of our first choice defenders, I'll take that.

But I'll be glad when we get some players back.

    Two months it took.

    Subbed at HT against Liverpool.

    And now this:

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca admits that summer arrival Jadon Sancho may get game time this week.

The winger has not been involved in the club’s last two matches, despite a promising start to life as a Blue.

Asked if Sancho may play in midweek against Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup, Maresca stated:
"Jadon is doing well since he arrived with us. For sure, he cannot maintain the same level all season because the amount of games is huge.

“So the last two games he didn't play, not for any different reason, but just for a tactical and technical decision - no more than that.
"For sure, because of the amount of games, he is going to play many games and the only thing he has to do is to continue to work hard. When we give him the chance, take it."

Best bit is, they can't get out of signing him now cos we negotiated an obligation to buy for the useless shithouse!

Perhaps you've forgotten who's paying most of his wages.

With Chelsea having an agreement to sign him only depending on "performance milestones".

Which you seem to be amused aren't being met.

He really is clutching at any hint of a straw, isn't he.

Jadon Sancho will spend season on loan at Chelsea in deal which includes an obligation to buy if targets are met.

Paying a player to not play at another club... sounds like Antony's future.

    And hopefully Mount's.

    Clueless harry strikes again!

    With Cy not far behind!

Chelsea are paying at least 80% of his wages, which is why there was no loan fee. If they finish 14th or above, the obligation to buy clause is activated for up to 25 million.

With the number of similar players they have it seems like it would be pretty easy for Chelsea to not to give JS the number of games that would trigger compulsory purchase.

So those MU numpties will get stiffed yet again.

It doesn't matter. It's based on where they finish in the table.

14th or so will do. Which is where you are slip slidin' away to while we are heading to the top with the most coveted young manager in Europe at the helm.

Edit: and here's another link explaining the 14th position guarantee: Chelsea’s obligation to buy Jadon Sancho conditional on top 14 finish - Yahoo Sports.

Oh, it's a lovely day today!

I wonder how the Moaners are paying their share, do you think they're charging the cleaners for parking?

I was rather deflated after a terribly flat performance, but then....

    Happy Invincibles Day!

    Well that's a surprise.

BANGKOK — The Premier League broadcasting rights in Thailand have changed hands after True Visions held the rights for 6 consecutive seasons. Recently, Jasmine International surprisingly won the bidding and partnered with Mono Group for broadcasting.

Jasmine International Public Company Limited (JAS) released a press kit on November 12 announcing that it has secured exclusive rights to broadcast the English Premier League in three countries: Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos, including live broadcasts, reruns, and highlights starting from next season (2025/26).

“Creating excitement in the industry once again when ” JAS” successfully acquired the rights to broadcast “Premier League”, the most popular football league in the world,” it said.

JAS stated that it aims to broadcast content to over 25 million households across the three countries, targeting 3 million member accounts in the first year out of a total population of 96 million. This mega-project investment includes partnerships with Mono Group companies, such as MONOMAX and MONO 29 channel, as key marketing and distribution partners.

Dr. Soraj Asavaprapha, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Jasmine International, informed the Stock Exchange of Thailand that the company acquired the rights for Premier League and FA Cup matches for USD 559,980,000 (approximately THB 19.17 billion). The rights cover a 6-year period starting from the 2025/26 season.

He confirmed in an interview with Khaosod that their package pricing will definitely not be higher than the previous provider’s rates. The Premier League package will cost no more than 400 baht per month, and they are developing a system that will allow smooth streaming on up to 4 screens simultaneously.

“The price will certainly be lower than the current market rate, and we will implement a single-price policy regardless of viewing platform. We will maintain high-quality broadcasting with Full-HD picture quality using Auto bit rate technology that adjusts according to viewers’ internet speed and receiving devices,” he said.

Regarding viewing channels, besides the main platforms – MONOMAX (streaming platform) and MONO29 (free-to-air platform), Dr. Soraj stated that they plan to distribute through all networks and mobile operators, including App Store (iOS), Google Store, AIS, and TRUE to ensure maximum content accessibility for viewers.

For free-to-air TV, he confirmed there will definitely be live broadcasts, while the possibility of additional channels depends on future negotiations.

Meanwhile, Ong-art Prapakamol, Head of True Visions and Media at True Corporation, commented that True Visions participated in the bidding for 2025-2028 EPL rights with an appropriate offer but was outbid by another party.

“This bidding result will not significantly impact True Corporation’s business operations. True Visions confirms that subscribers can continue watching Premier League matches for the 2024/2025 season through all True platforms until the season ends in May 2025,” he stated.

The history of Premier League broadcasting in Thailand spans nearly three decades, with True Visions’ long-standing dominance being a significant part of Thailand’s football viewing culture since the mid-1990s.

True Visions (formerly IBC, then UBC) held rights from 1993-2001
ESPN held rights for 2001-2007 (with UBC as broadcaster)
True Visions regained rights for 2007-2013
    CTH won rights for 2013-2016
BEIN Sports held rights for 2016-2020 (with True Visions as broadcaster)
True Visions has held rights from 2020-2025

The successful bid by Jasmine International and their partnership with Mono Group represents a major shift in Thailand’s sports media landscape, as they prepare to take the reins from the 2025/26 season onwards.

    Just a moment...
