It's the Centenary - 100th Le Mans Anniversary but the 90th 'running' since 1923; not held in 1936 (labour strike) and 1940-1948 (WWII)

    Hypercars
In the past, cars got close to the 400 kph mark, some even breaking the barrier on the Mulsanne Straight before the two chicanes were added. The record holder is the WM P88, which hit 407 kph on 11 June 1988.

    In 2023: #50 Ferrari AF Corse Ferrari 499P – 343.2 kph

And 6. #2 Cadillac Racing Cadillac V-Series.R – 338.1 kph – Earl Bamber from New Zealand has a good record at Le Mans with two wins and three podiums from 7 races - all with Porsche

    91st.

Surprised my old mate Chris Buncombe is not in the LMP2 this year, being a former winner.

It's an endurance race not a 2 hour getabuzzrace.

    Yes, the LMP2 class.

Competing teams race in groups called "classes", or cars of similar specification, while competing simultaneously for outright placing amongst all classes

Well I wouldn't go quite that far, but yes, he started racing in karting for Jenson's dad and they are best mates.

Toyota had a slow flat but limited the damage with a quick stop. Ferrari takes the lead but Toyota is still the one to beat
