^ Rugby Union has always been a sport played by state schools and university teams during the week with most players doing NRL on the weekends.

I love both codes but Rugby League will always be my favourite.

I rather suspect it's more a case that Italy were not that good and France was just being French and shite (inconsistently so).

So probably England will be fine, but Ireland need to avoid being too casual against France.
