Thread: Nascar driver goes balls to the wall.

Just watch the #1 car. Fast forward to 1:30 if you are impatient. Every few years in sports, someone thinks outside the box and rules have to be changed. He intentionally leans the car against the outside wall, and then puts the throttle wide open. He's no longer using his tires for turning traction. He's just using centrifugal force against the wall.

This is legendary and will be on the sports highlight reels for decades. Ross Chastain is the man

I watched it live. I thought no way he will catch Hamlin then when I saw him hit the wall and pick up speed I knew he was trying that slingshot move the Kyle Larson did by accident last season. Destroyed a car but made it to the final 4. Hats off to the guy. As they say, Find anyway to win.

Been in a few scrapes meself , reminds me of the Thai drivers overtaking on the inside track here in a nation which is whacky races (in both senses) at least 7-11

I didn't think the friction against the wall would be fast enough. But nope. It clearly was. Safe barrier + new car probably helped too

All it means is when throttle levers are pushed all the way stead , the balls on the end of the levers hit the firewall of the aircraft. You sick bastard

I like when the inside track is the hard shoulder and one of the left wheels going into the dirt and they lose control and swing it back onto the driving lane.
