Special teams sputter as Lightning lose to Oilers, 3-2
Sometimes a fairly solid effort for a team can be undone by one bad stretch of play. Such was the case on Tuesday when the Tampa Bay Lightning lost, 3-2, to the Edmonton Oilers. Edmonton dominated special teams as they scored shorthanded (Warren Foegele) and twice on the power play (Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl). Brandon Hagel and Alex Killorn had the tallies for the Lightning as the Oilers won in Tampa for the first time in over a decade.

Keys to the Bruins being near the top of the NHL standings
The Boston Bruins were rumored to be washed up.
They were supposed to be too old. And too injured. And too past their prime. No way could this Bruins' team run with the younger, faster Atlantic Division teams -- let along the high-flying league at large.
That part turned out to be true; the Bruins haven't been keeping up. They've been setting the pace.
Boston cruised to a league-best 12-2-0 record to start this season, while boasting the top goal differential (plus-25), most goals for (57, tied with Vegas in one fewer game players) and most efficient penalty kill (94.1%) during that span. The Bruins took care of business largely without last season's leading scorer (Brad Marchand, who returned from offseason hip surgery on Oct. 27) or No. 1 defenseman (Charlie McAvoy, just back in the lineup after undergoing a complex shoulder procedure in June).

Lightning and Capitals brawl, meet again Sunday in Tampa
While officials reviewed Capitals forward Nicolas Aube-Kubel’s check to the head of Lightning defenseman Cal Foote, Tampa Bay’s Patrick Maroon dropped the gloves with Washington’s Garnet Hathaway during the lengthy stoppage.
That was just the start of the fisticuffs as tensions boiled over Friday night between these teams, which face off again Sunday in what could be another feisty game for players with short memories.
“I don’t know about that but probably,” Lightning defenseman Victor Hedman said after his team lost 5-1. “Two teams that want to win hockey games. That was a bad hit, and it set the tone for the rest of the game.”

Hahaha our braindead ownership managed to hire the worst general manager he could have. A 73 year old dunderhead that was more interested in polishing his legacy with some diversity hires than winning. So this old bastard went and hired 2 women. Hardly a year into the job and the 2 women are already quarrelling. And one had to be fired. Now the fired woman has submitted a lawsuit.
Castonguay is the other woman. Hahaha what an embarassment. Fucking moron owner, fucking moron GM
CityNews
The first woman hired to the Vancouver Canucks coaching staff has filed a lawsuit against the organization claiming that she was discriminated against on the basis of gender and disability. In the week leading up to her termination, the document claims Doerrie was called into Castonguay’s office after reposting an article from The Province on her social media.
“Castonguay raised a concern with Ms. Doerrie reposting the article on her social media account, and with Ms. Doerrie speaking to the media.”
Doerrie says she “had not disclosed her promotion or any confidential information to the media, including to the person who had written the article.”
The article was written by her friend, Patrick Johnston. Johnston had texted Doerrie statements made by Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau, complimenting Doerrie’s abilities.
When Doerrie said this to Castonguay, the document alleges that Castonguay responded saying, “You’re not important enough to be cared about,” and “no one in the media is your friend.”
