Nick is uber popular with the young up and coming players in Oz. He has a very large fan following, and does it his own way. A great player who will probably never reach his potential due to his attitude and antics.

You are being a bit harsh on Lleyton, who is a great ambassador for Australia and worked harder than anyone in his career.
He is also a really good guy.

Setting a great example by behaving like a teenage child in every game. Doesn't surprise me he's popular with the young crowd, he's like a tennis version of one of these reality TV shows with vacuous idiots after their 15 minutes of fame. Sad really. Why the Ump didn't give the twat the mic and say to the crowd "lets give the child the mic and let him have his say", i would.

Kyrgios is all about the bozo entertainment, but a detriment to the sport. The tragedy is, he could be (or have been) a Great.

Nope, even if had managed to keep his gob shut for a game at a time he'd still have been second tier - he knows that and that is why he acts up, its the only way he keeps in the headlines. Typical Aussie really.

Me? why would i be jealous, i grew out teen angst, attention seeking and behaving like cvnt before 20, although some might suggest it took me longer. If you are talking about the money, not really, i have enough for what i need to do. Ozzies seem to be heading the way of yanks but with less class.

What utter fucking nonsense. Hewitt was a not particularly gifted tennis player who worked his nuts off his entire career and won two grand slams. Or are you talking about him banging Kim Clijsters?

She has got a few things Kyrgios hasn't. Not least, the pride of her country.

I lost interest in Tennis once we lost the talented players and moved into the era and big serves and big mouths.

...just watching the Cam Norrie-Tommy Paul quarterfinal match: tennis played at the highest level by two talented sportsmen...a real pleasure to watch no matter who wins...I normally switch to coverage of other Wimbledon courts when Kyrgios acts up...

I agree . . . but even if he 'behaves' he needs to string five, six brilliant matches in succession, something he hasn't done.

Pat Cash accuses Nick Kyrgios of 'cheating and gamesmanship' at Wimbledon

    By Jeremy Wilson (The Telegraph)

    Mon, July 4, 2022 at 5:29 PM

Nick Kyrgios yells out - AFP

Nick Kyrgios appeared to make light of the storm engulfing him at Wimbledon, even after being accused of “cheating” by fellow Australian Pat Cash and picking up his second fine of the tournament.

The All England Club announced on Sunday night that Kyrgios had been fined $4,000 for a verbal obscenity during his controversial victory against Stefanos Tsitsipas - to add to the $10,000 he was fined for spitting towards a spectator - and, shortly after, he posted a laughing emoji on Twitter.

Kyrgios was warned for swearing on Saturday and also called for Tsitsipas to be defaulted after the Greek hit a ball close to a spectator's head. Tsitsipas later labelled Kyrgios a "bully" with "an evil side".

Kyrgios said he did nothing disrespectful towards Tsitsipas, saying the Greek "was the one hitting balls at me, he was the one that hit a spectator, he was the one that smacked it out of the stadium".

Cash, the 1987 Wimbledon champion, told the BBC that the match was "absolute mayhem" and accused his compatriot of dragging the sport down. "He's brought tennis to the lowest level I can see as far as gamesmanship, cheating, manipulation, abuse, aggressive behaviour to umpires, to linesmen," he said. “Something has got to be done about it. It's just an absolute circus. It's gone to the absolute limit now."
Cash said that the umpire Damien Dumusois had "lost control" but highlighted Kyrgios’s behaviour.

"Tsitsipas would make a line call and he'd go up there and start complaining, he'd be in his face - that's part of gamesmanship, that's the sort of stuff he does and I think there's a limit."

Nick Kyrgios argues with the umpire - GETTY IMAGES

The tennis world is split on whether Kyrgios is good or bad for the game and Sally Bolton, the chief executive of the All England Club, stressed that Wimbledon did not have a preconceived idea of how a winner should behave. “We don’t have a clear view of what we consider to be a perfect champion - it’s a very long way to go to the finals so let’s see what happens,” she said.

Of the suggestion that players might be acting up due to the presence of additional cameras for a future Netflix documentary, Bolton added: “It is not something I have observed or heard fed back.”

...the bold and underlined part is the exact reason Kyrgios gets away with actions that damage the sport...a "preconceived way" for a winner to behave might include sportsmanship, public decorum, and respect for other players and spectators. Perhaps someone should send Ms. Bolton a memo to that effect. I have a few suggestions for her to help deal with Kyrgios: shut down matches when he misbehaves, remove all financial winnings for his participation if he is thrown out of venues, ban him from ATP matches where he has previously acted the fool...eventually, I predict, he'll either straighten up or stop playing: a win-win situation...

Nick Kyrgios will appear in a Canberra court next month after being charged with domestic abuse in Australia.

Kyrgios, 27, who plays Cristian Garin in the Wimbledon quarter-finals tomorrow, has been accused of assaulting a former girlfriend in December 2021.

“ACT Policing can confirm a 27-year-old Watson man is scheduled to face the ACT Magistrates Court on the 2nd of August in relation to one charge of common assault following an incident in December 2021,” local police said on Tuesday afternoon.

^You would put it past the skinny little runt to be a woman abuser, he'd get his head knocked off quick smart if he ever tried to get physical with another guy.

The only way “Bro” will ever make it to a final in a major. I’m not a Djokovic fan, but I hope he meets “Bro” in the finals, and cleans his clock.

I don't really like either of them, but yes, I'd prefer it if the bubble got absolutely stuffed.

What a state the game is in when the choice is between a petulant greek/aussie loudmouthed child and a lying anti-vaxer.

Impressive for a 19 year old....

Spanish teenager Carlos Alcaraz claimed his maiden Grand Slam title at the US Open on Sunday night to become the youngest man ever to be ranked world No 1.
Alcaraz and his opponent Casper Ruud went into the match with both bidding for a first Grand Slam title and to top the rankings, and it was the 19-year-old who came out on top, winning 6-4 2-6 7-6 (7-1) 6-3 on Arthur Ashe Stadium.

The Spaniard is more than a year younger than Lleyton Hewitt was when he topped the standings in 2001.
    Especially when...

Carlos Alcaraz has already recovered from three successive five-set matches, two of which finished past 2am

Very impressive indeed . . . Kyrgios should have a close look at the guy to see how it's done.
