What do the Seahawks and Falcons have in common?

Losing a Super Bowl to New England that they should have won ...

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins died early Saturday morning after he was struck by a dump truck while he was walking on a South Florida highway. Haskins was 24 years old.

Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson Lt. Indiana Miranda said Haskins was pronounced dead at the scene.

"He was attempting to cross the westbound lanes of Interstate 595 when there was oncoming traffic," Miranda said in an emailed statement.

She didn't say why Haskins was on the highway near Fort Lauderdale at the time. The accident caused the highway to be shut down for several hours, and Miranda said it's "an open traffic homicide investigation."

Gruesome way to go. A friend of mine met a similar fate, a couple of years ago, trying to cross an interstate.

An American footballer has been given a six-game ban over accusations of sexual misconduct.
Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson was accused by 24 women in Texas, where he played five seasons with the Houston Texans, and has been suspended in line with the NFL's personal conduct policy.

The 26-year-old, who joined Cleveland in March, settled 23 of the 24 lawsuits filed by massage therapists who alleged sexual harassment and assault during treatment sessions in 2020 and 2021.

He got off lightly, most thought he would be banned for the entire season. I am actually surprised the NFL decided six games was enough.

Harry this had nothing at all to do with courts or the women. Done by the NFL, the players code and bringing the NFL into disrepute.

Money always wins, unless you are a Russian oligarch.

Agreed, that scumbag should have never been able to play the game again IMHO.

Look at Trever Bauer who was on the Dodgers. He is still sitting now for almost two seasons.

MLB is a far more traditional game. He sits for good reason.

He is basically banned and blackballed. A much harsher punishment than what Watson received.

Yes, and the NFL can only base its decisions on evidence, no?

Otherwise, it being the US, an enormous lawsuit would be heading their way.

Also, if it was "done by the NFL" how come

The NFL has three days from Robinson’s decision to appeal.

They really are a fucking clown show.

In her findings, Robinson wrote that her decision is limited by the record that was presented to her by NFL investigators who are former prosecutors with decades of experience investigating sexual assault cases. She noted that Watson had "allegedly worked with more than 60 massage therapists" during the period under consideration, and that the NFL had "only investigated the claims of the 24 therapists suing Mr. Watson for damages."
And of the 24, Robinson wrote that the NFL was only able to interview 12 alleged victims. They relied on the testimony of four of those 12 in the case presented to her for review.
Buzbee attacked the way in which the investigation was conducted.
"None of my clients testified in front of the federal judge. I think that's a common misconception that four people testified. That's not the case. Not one of them showed up. Not one of them was asked to show up and testify," he said. "Since those interviews, we have had no contact whatsoever with the NFL.
    And there's also:

Judge Robinson critiqued the NFL for asking for an unprecedented full-season suspension which would be far lengthier than other players accused of non-violent sexual conduct.
The NFL are just panicking and pandering to the media and the #METOO movement, because they know they have fucked up.

You keep saying this nonsense but you have yet to point out where I am wrong.

Is it because you don't have a fucking clue what's going on?

P.S. How is discussion of NFL team ownership off topic you plank?
