Agree with your picks David68 except for the Knights v Manly game. Knights got flogged last week and couldn't score a point, Manly looked good, Tommy T is out but I think they'll still get the job done.

Didn't know it's raining so much. Forwards have a bigger influence and Manly have a great pack.
Hearts are Newcastle ... Head is 50/50
^Yeah I didn't look at the forecast 'cause I'm not betting on that game. Will watch it though later tonight (I've got the Watch NRL app so all games and replays on demand) but would also like to see the Knights win. Never ever bet either way if it's raining though!
The NRL news from the weekend
The Parramatta Eels held off a fast-finishing Gold Coast Titans at CBUS Super Stadium to secure a 26-20 win.
but . . .
Ozzie beef strikes/streaks
“So my actual biggest goal in life has been to actually just run on a football field,” she said.
“And yeah, I’m doing this.”
Eels halfback Mitch Moses, who was lining up a kick at goal at the time, was also stunned by the level of aggression in the tackle, with vision showing him putting his hands on his heads in shock as the pitch invader was slammed into the ground.
Streakers have gone soft.
Aren't streakers suposed to be naked?
The most unappetizing round thus far
Raiders vs Cowboys tonight then ...
I'm only really interested in the Storm/Sharks battle
Both on 4 wins from 5 and the same points differential of + 65
Add in the spice that Sharks have ex-Storm players Hynes and Finucane and Hynes is playing the house down in his move from Fullback to 5/8 or halfback (I forget which)
Almost all Home Teams for me this week ...
- RAIDERS vs Cowboys - Night game in Canberra, probably about 14C @ kick-off, not exactly A barmy Townsville night.
- RABBITOHS vs Bulldogs - Latrell Mitchell out for 8 weeks, not a hamstring muscle, but he's torn the tendon ... pass me the tissues pls.
- PANTHERS vs Broncos - Coach/Father and Son have resigned until 2048 on squillions
- SEA EAGLES vs Titans - Titans a roughy here
- STORM vs Sharks - In 12 previous matches between these sides at AAMI Park, Sharks has won just twice.
- ROOSTERS vs Warriors - Meh
- DRAGONS vs Knights - I'll regret it, but changed my tip to the Knights. Lost to Manly last week, but a man down for a lot of the game and there were 2/3 tries in the last 10 mins which made the game appear less of a contest.
- EELS vs Tigers - Meh
For me, danger games are the Storm game and the Knights overcoming the Dragons at home.
TizMe ... look away now ...
Raiders v Cows tonight is a must-win game for both of them you'd think. The old saying is you can't win the Premiership during the early rounds but you can lose it, and whoever looses tonight will be on 4 points after 6 rounds and the Top 8 will suddenly seem a long way off.
Agree with your assessment of the Storm v Sharks game being the highlight of the round. Sharks have looked very good after some really good buying and appointment of a new Coach in the off-season who's brought the work ethic, mindset, and attacking flair of the Roosters with him. But the hardest test in NRL is playing Storm in Melbourne, let's see how the Sharks go against a team that never beats themselves and is relentless for the full 80 minutes.
Knights have been very ordinary but I think they'll beat St George who are in total disarray and have Ben Hunt in their team finding new ways to make a fucking idiot out of himself in both attack and defence. Knights get Klemmer back and Edrick Lee (remember him?) who I watched playing a NSW Cup game 2 weeks ago and he still looks good. Then there's Ponga who's a much better player than he's showing recently and is due for a blinder. Saints lose, but I'm not betting on that one.
^As a punter, that wouldn't be one of the stats worth including when weighing 2 teams up but it is interesting
Magic Round on this week-end
Grounds heavy to wet ... it's been pissing down.
Storm vs Panthers on Saturday night ... Suncorp is sold out.
"Brisbane received a month’s worth of rain in a day ahead of Magic Round, which gets under way at Suncorp Stadium on Friday evening."
"Brisbane received 67.7mm of rainfall to 9am on Friday – in excess of the city’s May average (61.1mm) – leaving ferries and CityCat services suspended."

Jeez that was a good game to watch! I though for sure we were going to golden-point with 10 minutes to go, NSW threw everything they had at the line but somehow QLD held on. I can see QLD getting a little bit better for game 2 and NSW getting a lot better, should be another cracker.
Well done Queensland. With two players ruled out with COVID, including star Cameron Munster they dominated NSW in a wild, frenetic, injury and card filled match to win 22-12

One of the fastest, toughest, brutal, and edge of the seat Origin games in memory. This is why Rugby League is my favourite sport to watch by a very long way, nothing compares.
As far as I know, they play Rugby League in the NRL too
I just love the game and always have, it's a brutal sport played at 100 mph with some mad skills involved as well. You would need to be borderline insane to play it at professional levels.
^I like Aussie Rules because I played it as a kid, would rather watch NRL though. Cannot deal with Union, compared to League it's an error-riddled snails paced cluster fuck of players (many of them fat and clearly unfit) standing around with hands on hips in between penalty conversion attempts. Pass.
Since the 80's, scrums have only been there to give NRL players a chance to catch their breaths (as told to me by one Changa Langlands) because they don't get the regular delays in play like Union players do. But seriously, scrums in Union do my head in anyway as they try to set it and get a result 5 fucking times before, and you guessed it, another penalty is blown. So let's write another 3 or 4 minutes off, not counting whatever time the scrum debacle took off the clock, while everyone except the kicker stands around with hands on hips so the 15 penalty kick of the game can take place shall we?. Dead boring game to watch if you're use to the speed, skills, and physicality of League..
The proof of ball skills and fitness is indisputable, any decent NRL player will be in their national Union team the same year (or week) they switch codes (Tuiquiri, Sailor, SBW, Rogers, Vanavalu, RTS, Burgess, Folau, Hunt, Thorn, Korobeiti, etc, there's a ton of them) but Union players do not have the balls skills or fitness to play League at any real level. They can't reliably catch a simple fucking pass, it's just an accepted part of that game!
Anyway, I'm not from a private school background and can't watch Union without thinking "is this seriously the best players that country can come up with", including when the All Blacks play, and that will never change.
