Yup. Hamilton is going to get blind sided by Russel. He'll be the #2 driver at Mercedes. He's 37 years old and mistake prone. While Russel is one of the top prospects in the world, entering his prime.

But if you ask all the Merc fans , somehow they think Russel is just gonna slide in behind 37 yo Hamilton and be a #2. That won't happen. If Russel gets the #2 treatment , he will leave. This is gonna be the biggest clusterfuck since Hamilton Alonso.

Red Bull would buy out Perezes contract in 5 minutes if they could get Russel.

A casual observation. Cars with similar power units have similar cooling duct size. I.e Williams.

I think they're all the same size, just a different shape.

Those with Mercedes engine are more "squarish" for want of a better word, whereas the Ferrari and Alfa Romeo's are thinner and wider. This all integrates with the rest of the airflow like the front wing.

No-one will be able to spot the stealth Alfa Romeo. Cunning plan.

The front view shows how sharp the Ferrari's nose is and the bit I thought interesting was the way those side pods sweep up away from the body. I don't think anyone else has gone that route.

The different interpretations of the new rules will make for some interesting racing I hope, some cars will be better suited to some circuits than others.

Most people who screw up badly in public and embarrass their employer can expect the boot.
I know people who were sacked on the spot for lesser offences.
He's lucky to have been offered another position in F1, although if he has any shame at all he'll go out and find something new.

A bloke who was proven to be really shit at his important job is removed. It has nothing at all to do with you being a biased and very dumb individual.
You are really shit at posting on this forum, but you are still here? How the fuck does that work?

Skidmark is just a fucking idiot. Unfortunately this is one of many threads he feels qualified to comment on because he has Google, even though he knows absolutely fuck all about the subject matter.

Kinda makes you wonder why they built that F1 track and had all those races, does it?

You are right, of course. Except that this year is a bigger departure and more opportunities for teams to make better or worse choices. We shall see.

Pre-season testing in Barcelona this week.

Well it's not really, it's just a new set of specs that they've had a couple of years to work on it. Some put more effort (and money) into it than others.

Pre-season testing in Barcelona this week.
Bahrain will be more interesting in mid-March: They will have some timing and TV coverage.

I see they've binned the rule about starting the race on the tyres you set the fastest Q2 lap on.

I think most teams would agree with this.

There's a nice write up here about the design differences we discussed a few posts back.

Why have the F1 teams taken such unique design decisions – and what are the big differences? | Formula 1(R)
