Q1 coming to an end, and the next session is Quali, as it's a sprint race weeked.

Well Mercedes will be happy it's a sprint race because they've both parked their cars in the wall.

They might have got more speed out of their recent upgrades but it's obviously come at the expense of grip.

I don't know if we're going to get a second Q3 lap in now.

Perez starting at 13th for sprint. Lap time deleted for exceeding track. I seen it happen and wonder why it took so long

An eventful race, Ferrari could have been looking at a 1-2 until Sainz' engine blew up, and Pepe was of course panicking all the way home.
Another podium to add to the vast Hamilton collection.
Russell clipped Perez on the first lap and ended his race, and despite a penalty, still managed to get 4th, which is nice for Mercedes.

And another storming drive from Mick Schumacher to finish 6th. He might be getting the hang of it now.

Hamilton fans are creating this scandal in F1 right now. A few of them are alleging that Max fans sexually abused them in the stands. (a woman or tranny said someome flipped her dress up) It's all on Twitter. It looks to me like a staged hate crime or something to that effect.

Of course given that it was mostly drunk Mad Max fans, the man himself was quick to come out and say "these things shouldn't happen" and "alcohol makes you do stupid things".

It's no wonder an idiot like skidmark would come out with similar fucking nonsense.

F1 tickets cost around $500 minimum these days. But yeah , the stands must be crawling with knuckle dragging hooligans. What a joke.

It is sure tedious that so many social justice warriors are F1 fans. They always find a scandal to have a moral panic about.

Oh nooooo someone burned a Mercedes hat ! This is an outrage !

Iím sure that President Putrid would provide the bullet, and the gun.

He would even find someone to fire it too.

Someone worthless and irrelevant like you.

This is the only racing I ever really watch and thought it would be nice to go one day...but at $500/ticket that might just have to stay a dream for now....

Don't listen to skidmark, he is a clueless fucking wanker.

You can get general admission three day passes very cheap in places like Hungary, Belgium and Brazil.

Brazil is probably the best value because it's the hotels that cost you a fucking fortune - every hotel near an F1 track stiffs customers during race weekend. Brazil has tons of them and transport is cheap.

It was always on my list to do hospitality there but I could never justify the journey time just for a race. I was going nip down when it coincided with a conference in Boston but they changed the dates and fucked it for me.

It's also the Paddock's favourite race (as in mechanics, tyre teams, etc., not the drivers ).

K-Mag hopes to top midfield with new Haas upgrades

Kevin Magnussen does not expect Haas’ upgrades to totally shift the order, but targets a rise to the top of the midfield.

Haas are the only team on the grid to not have upgraded their 2022 challenger at all, the American outfit choosing a cautious approach to be confident that what they add to the VF-22 will trigger a positive step.

The approach stems from their experiences of 2019, where the string of upgrades introduced that season served to only hamper the car, rather than progress it.

But Haas are approaching the point where an upgrade package will be rolled out for the VF-22, that expected to arrive in Hungary, the round which follows the upcoming French Grand Prix.

Despite a lack of upgrades, Haas rebounded from a slip down the pecking order, recording back-to-back double-points finishes at the British and Austrian GPs.

Most recently Magnussen crossed the line P8 in Austria, while team-mate Mick Schumacher finished a career-best P6.

So, Magnussen hopes that the upgraded VF-22 may just establish Haas as the leading midfield outfit.

“No one knows what is possible, but certainly [in Austria] we were sort of the fourth, fifth-fastest team,” he said, quoted by GPFans.

“Certainly Alpine, McLaren and ourselves looked very strong in that midfield and if we can stick with them that is a massive jump for us.

“We are on par with them now and we don’t have an upgrade. So hopefully, when we get that upgrade, it can put us in front of that midfield.”

That being said, Magnussen is wary that upgrades do not always deliver the kind of improvement expected.

Looking around Haas’ midfield rivals, Magnussen believes that this is indeed true for some teams.

But, he is not holding out for a total shake-up of the pecking order, the Danish racer explaining that a “slight step forward” would be a success.

And considering the ultra-tight nature of the midfield, such slight gains could well make a big difference for Haas.

“It is exciting, but you’ve got to be careful with these upgrades sometimes,” he suggested.

“The other teams don’t seem to have found so much with theirs and hopefully, we can find something with ours.

“But it’s not like I’m expecting a huge change in the picture. If you can make a slight step forward, that’s good.”

    Who writes these headlines?

He said "it’s not like I’m expecting a huge change in the picture. If you can make a slight step forward, that’s good".
