Germany's defence isn't as good as it should be . . . and has always been. I do believe that England will get the upper hand this game - and that Kane will get his goal. Grealish has been under-utilsied.

What Germany really is missing is an outright number 9 and a workhorse like Lahm or Schweinsteiger.

^^ I agree with your assessment, from what I've seen.

Man - for - man, England have the superior players, and by some distance imo.

What will worry all England fans is Germany's resilience and calmness under pressure.

So it appears my team was decimated a long time ago and the wooden spoon is heading my way!

I have picked some random players however, and chucked Lukaku and Schick up front.

Maybe that will spoil my planned Wooden Spoon Party.

Surely them not stepping up would be as big a worry, along with a so called 150 million rated world class striker that's playing pish and yet to score.

If they can't get it up for Scotland at Wembley.... to slightly paraphrase Souness.

That said, I do see Southgate putting out a much livelier team.

Germany won't have 10 players within 25 yards of their goal line for most of the game, hoping to hit us on the counterattack.

A United fan should be able to identify with the difficulties that poses.

Headline news on the BBC and they've already shown Southgate's penalty miss in 96.

Let's hope Southgate puts a team out to get at the German back line.

England will be 3-0 in 90 minutes, German will level it, England will go 5-3 down, but it will be 5-5 a.e.t and Germany will win on penalties.

    Well after last night....

Harry Kane popped round today and he was very relaxed and confident.

    3-1 to England he reckons.

The BBC do football soooooooooooooooooooooooo much better than ITV. That montage of English pain over the years v Germany was brilliant...in a masochistic kind of way.

Anyway, please please please let me get what I want (for once against Germany).

    See you later!

    It's a win-win (for me)

I just love these games; enjoy the football and don't care about the result

    Gazza 96

    Kane 21

How can you miss from that far out?

Was the same place on the same pitch, or was the SF in 96 in St. James' Park?

Either way, more of the same for the 2nd half please, though with a few goals.

Can see German being cooler and calmer towards the end, taking it 1-0.
