Switzerland and Germany are doing well. Definitely the most improved countries over the last decade.

Shame about Denmark . . . and the Finns??? The US beats Canada with the biggest margin ever . . . no wonder our Canadians are deflecting from the tournament. 0-2 do Canada . . . first time ever - the excuses are rolling in.

The only time I've ever watched this tournament was when I was on holiday in Amsterdam and couldn't get the Stanley Cup playoffs on TV. It really doesn't register in the minds of most Canadians.

The general public expects to win or at least do well and much of the time we do. The hardcore fans on forums and talk shows will argue about this shitty outing for awhile

Why would a Canadian player want to go this year? Their team has just missed the playoffs after a really tight schedule. They've been living in an NHL enforced bubble with no access to friends, or the ability to go out for dinner or drinks. Can only see immediate household family members. Most of them haven't even been vaccinated yet. I don't blame them for not wanting to fly half way around the world and then come home and quarantine for 2 weeks.
