I checked out the Canadian rooster earlier today. To send a team of mid calibre lads to battle hardened warriors is quite ridiculous imo.

I used to be a hardcore hockey fan. Watched every Canucks game. But after Edmonton drafted Mcdavid, the league put in a new draft rule to mix up the top draft spots, and who was the first team to get absolutely positively fucked from the new rule ? The Vancouver Canucks. In any other year , the Canucks were guaranteed a top 2 pick. But they fell to 5th spot.

That was it for me.

If Petterrson or Hughes leave that will be it for me as well.

If Jim Benning stays, ditto.

I barely know of either of those players. I completely tuned it out. Last I remember , they drafted Olli Juolevi at 6th place in 2015. Not even sure if he turned into anything.

I'm not that much a fan anymore, but I do like the Nuckers. Pettersson is a super player given the stamp of approval by none other than The Geat Gretsky.

Quinn is excellent.

As for the rest of the team.........................not great, just a blue collar crew.

I was pissed when they passed on Tkachuk. Juolevi has just made the team this season.

I've been meaning to get back into the Canucks. I stopped because I realized it was too negative and I had more negative feelings than it was worth. You have to win sometimes to make it worthwhile. But its a good game. My wife got into it right away. Watching a game was a perfect way to blow an evening. I guess I need a TV subscription of some sort. Just Netflix wont cut it.

Weren't Horvat and Boeser supposed to be pretty good ? Horvat seems like too much of a "2 way" player to me. There has to be some unapologetic 1 way players too. Maybe that's Petterson.

edit: Who's that other big kid again ? Jake ? I never liked the pick. Another "2 way" pick.
