Did you know Buster was an original investor in Under Armour? Its know he put in over a million with Kobe Bryant leading the way with 6 million. Coke just bought Under Armour for 5.6 billion. Kobe's family will take home 400,000,000 from the sale. Buster made the second most of those initial investors, the amount remains undisclosed.

Didn’t know that. Do know that he made 150 million from baseball though. With that investment money he be sitting pretty for sure.

^ Tampa Bay picked up the $7 million option on Mike Zunino. Happy to see that guy get a nice payday.

I agree. Spring training starts tomorrow

First year the Marlins started playing, I purchased season tickets. Did that for the next few years and then the strike. I was upset.

Didn’t start purchasing season tickets again until they moved into the new stadium.

Not exactly an imposing nickname, is it?
The only nickname less imposing would be the Cleveland Gardenias.

Chelsea Janes - MLB official called today productive, was reluctant to characterize or give details about the talks today. Starting at 10 am tomorrow — deadline day. https://twitter.com/chelsea_janes/st...98498910126083

Chelsea Janes - MLB says today is the deadline for deal to be done before it will cancel regular season games. Union has never totally bought that, plans to negotiate the schedule. No one seems particularly optimistic about a deal getting done today. We’ll all find out together. Buckle up.

Is unconscionable. Hoping for anyone with power to change things to do the right thing is a recipe for disappointment these days, we all know that well. Baseball can bring joy to so many, and it’s about to be withheld by the few.

    Promising,…………

Chelsea Janes - League spokesman on moving back the deadline: “we want to exhaust every possibility to get a deal done.”

Chelsea Janes - “Calendar dictates that we will not be able to play the first two series of the regular season.” Those games will be cancelled. Manfred said agreement not possible before Thursday with travel back to New York, and by that calculation earliest camps can open is March 8. https://twitter.com/chelsea_janes/st...83306954981377

    Optimism..........

Chelsea Janes - MLB, union scheduled to meet in New York tomorrow (today!), per person familiar with the situation. Union plans to respond to league’s last proposal in writing and in full. Unclear on which issues, if any, they will be moving in the written proposal. https://twitter.com/chelsea_janes/st...01930114703360

    At least they’re still working………..

Chelsea Janes - As expected, MLBPA codified its offer today. Changes from where they were Tuesday (all contingent on agreement on all other pieces)
    — From $85M to $80 in pre-arb bonus pool.
    — Give MLB ability to make three rule changes w/ 45-day notice in 2023: pitch clock, big bases, shift ban https://twitter.com/chelsea_janes/st...48572311392265

Chelsea Janes - Union suggested meeting tomorrow. Nothing officially on the books yet. https://twitter.com/chelsea_janes/st...49392390103043

Randy Levine on whether the entirety of the 2022 season is in jeopardy: "I don’t even want to think about that. I couldn’t think about that. That’s a mind-boggling, horrid, horrid thought. Shame on all of us if it ever gets to that, shame on all of us."
They need to get something done.

I agree, enough of this crap. So tired of rules tinkering in both baseball and football.

Fvck you Apple TV. As if we need another subscription.

Apple and Major League Baseball to offer “Friday Night Baseball”

Apple and Major League Baseball (MLB) today announced “Friday Night Baseball,” a weekly doubleheader with live pre- and postgame shows that will be available to fans in eight countries exclusively on Apple TV+ as soon as the regular season begins.

In addition to “Friday Night Baseball,” fans in the US will be able to enjoy “MLB Big Inning,” a live show featuring highlights and look-ins airing every weeknight during the regular season. Baseball fans in the US and Canada will also have access to a new 24/7 livestream with MLB game replays, news and analysis, highlights, classic games, and more, as well as a full complement of on-demand programming, including highlights and MLB-themed original content.

Fans will be able to watch marquee games on Friday nights, free from local broadcast restrictions, across devices where Apple TV+ can be found, including on the Apple TV app on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV 4K and HD, and on tv.apple.com, along with select smart TVs, gaming consoles, and cable set-top boxes. “Friday Night Baseball” will be available on Apple TV+ — and, for a limited time, without the need for a subscription.
