Oh dear no replays. A massive shunt on the grid as one car was beached.
F2 now a 20 minute feature race. F1 drivers parade already delayed.
"The FIA advises that incident occurred during the FIA Formula 2 Feature Race start today, 05/12/21, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, involving car #10, Théo Pourchaire, and car #14, Enzo Fittipaldi.
The drivers were immediately attended to by emergency and medical crews. The drivers were conscious and extricated by the attending medical crews. Both have been transferred by ambulance and helicopter to King Fahad Armed Forces Hospital, Jeddah."
The next post may be brought to you by my little bitch Spamdreth
Glad Brundle had the good sense to back off when he saw MBS holding court!
The Saudis must be pissed off having to keep repairing this barrier!
Thank fuck that Haas shit has gone, we might get a fucking race now.
And just like that they give the championship back to Hamilton
Mercedes has 80 more hp on the straights. Race is over. Best Max can do is 2nd
Just let him by Max. You don't have the horsepower
Let's see the stewards leave that on the table.
That was mental. Apart from Mad Max deliberately slowing down in the middle of the track, everything else was racing. But I think they gave Max a meaningless five second penalty for one of the corners and fuck knows what they are looking at now, I think they'll be there all night.
The F2 race was a sign of what was to come, plenty of contact there too, and two drivers hospitalised.
Max slowed down to let Hamilton by. Hamilton got confused and made a mistake. But don't worry. This isn't racing when one car has 80 more hp than everyone else. Why Max even thinks he can race a car with this much more HP is beyond me.
The Stewards should be fining race control.
So the stewards gave Mad Max another pointless 10 second penalty for erratic breaking. They should have docked him one point, but instead he's going to spend the next race trying to do what he tried several times in this one: Driving like a dick to try and damage his opponents car because he knows if neither of them finish he wins.
The good thing is that Mercedes virtually have the constructors in the bag, so the team Christmas bonuses are all but assured.
I am curious to know where you get this 80 number. I don't think teams make these details public and whatever difference there is between the cars that is a marginal difference is on top of about 1000bhp, we aren't talking about family sedans. Also you saw Max beating Lewis's qualy time until he overcooked it and hit the wall at the final corner, so I don't think it is all that easy simply to say that MB have a more powerful car and will therefore win. The two cars look to be quite closely matched. Which bodes well for a final race with the two contenders starting on identical points.
As I have said before, I don't want to see this championship decided by the stewards, so let's hope Max can resist the urge to scrape the front wing off Lewis's car.
Meanwhile, a shout out for Bottas. He hasn't featured as much as he should have this season but he looked a bit more racy in Jeddah and got a well-deserved podium.
Proof not only that the stewards fucked up not doing anything about Brazil, but that Mad Max is fucking retarded.
He doesn't seem to understand that it is his actions driving off the track himself that forced Hamilton off the track in Brazil and in Saudi Arabia.Verstappen said: "He had a run [on me] a bit like Brazil and of course I braked late and got a little bit off line and had a moment and went wide. But he also didn't make the corner, so we both basically missed the corner and then I don't think it's fair to say I got the penalty.
"I find it interesting I am the one who gets penalised when both of us ran outside the white lines. In Brazil it was fine and now suddenly I get a penalty for it.
The stewards have basically made it open season, which is why when Hamilton finally struck his elbows out and got the corner that gave him the lead for the last time, the stewards basically said "Please ask him not to do that again or we might have to wave a flag that basically doesn't mean anything".
They are basically inviting Max to smack into him in Abu Dhabi.
They really should have just docked Max 0.5 points then it would be as it should be, a one race shoot out where both drivers want to win cleanly and neither wants to cause a DNF for themselves or anyone else.
