Gotta give Mazepin credit. Everyone says he's just out there going for a Sunday drive. He's still got passion. Even as a backmarker

We're in unknown territory again.
Not only has Qatar only got one DRS zone, but it was designed and built for MotoGP - which means completely different cambers et al to a Tilke-style F1 track, and likely a very smooth racing surface - at least to start with.
FP1 is going to be interesting.
All this of course means skidmark will be straight on Google trying to find an opinion on the interwebs that he will feebly attempt to pass off as his own.
There will be one DRS zone available at Formula 1’s inaugural Qatar Grand Prix this weekend.
Formula 1 is visiting long-term MotoGP venue Losail for the first time after it was drafted in as a replacement for the cancelled Australian round.
The circuit features 16 turns and an abundance of medium- and high-speed corners, with the pit straight the only straight of note.
As a result there will be just one DRS zone, making it the first venue since Monaco to feature only one zone.
The detection point has been placed 125 metres before Turn 16, with the activation point located 200 metres after the exit of the corner.
This weekend’s round could be the sole appearance in Formula 1 for Losail.
Qatar will not feature on the 2022 schedule, as the country focuses on its host duties for football’s World Cup, while either a new yet-to-be-built circuit or a street-based venue is likely to be Formula 1’s home when it returns in 2023.

^ That circuit looks quite narrow even for bikes. Should be a very interesting race!
Harry and Mercedes fanboy nation are trying to imply that this is a Red Bull track and you know... Hamilton is an underdog going in What a crock of absolute horse shit.
The championship is over, if Mercedes is bringing the car they had at Brazil to Qatar. (provided it is legal) That car was faster and more dominant against the rest of the field , than any other cars in the last 7 years.
They pretty well are.
Alfa Romeo can't survive without their funding. Why do you think Gio got the boot?
If Andretti had bought in, he would have given the second seat to an Indy driver.
And ask yourself if they really wanted an F2 driver why they didn't just go for Piastri?
Who by the way has instead go to Alpine as a reserve driver. Says it all.
Whinger Spice will be seething.
Max Verstappen had no intention of making the corner at Turn 4 at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, and probably wouldn’t have minded if he and Lewis Hamilton had crashed.
That’s the opinion of former F1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya.
Verstappen courted controversy last time out at the Interlagos circuit when he ran deep at Turn 4 on lap 48 as Hamilton tried to pass him for the lead.
Rather than a risk a crash, the Mercedes driver went even wider than the Red Bull, both drivers off the track.
The stewards declared at the time that there was no need to investigate it, however, Formula 1 is now awaiting the verdict of a right to review hearing that Mercedes requested.
Montoya reckons it was a deliberate move, and one that Verstappen would not have objected if it had ended in a crash.
“My honest opinion, the way I think Max looks at it is: if they crash he gains points,” Montoya said on ‘This Week with Will Buxton’ podcast. “As long as Lewis doesn’t finish ahead of him, he’s in a better situation for the championship.
“Lewis was alongside him and cleared him in the braking zone. There was no way as late as he braked he was gonna make the corner. I don’t think he had much of an intention of making the corner.
“I don’t have anything against Max. I actually really like Max and Red Bull, and they’ve done an amazing job to bring the fight to Mercedes. But I think they’re being surprised of how good Mercedes was.”
He added: “I think Lewis was really smart not to even try to turn in, because Max was going for the crash

I'd second that opinion.
The thing is, I don't want to see the championship decided by the stewards, so in a way I am happy they stepped back. The problem is that they have set themselves a difficult precedent here. In Qatar, if the positions are reversed, how will they rule? Will they rule differently if the outside driver turns in and there is an inevitable collision?
I see the stewards are still trying to work out how to dig themselves out of the hole they put themselves in.
I'm sure it will be nothing more than a suspended sentence or the like.
But at least it puts Mad Max and whinger spice on notice that they won't get away with such an obvious attempt at cheating again.
Max made the mistake of thinking that he was actually racing Hamilton. They should have just let him blow by. This wasn't a race. When a car shows up with 100 more horsepower than everyone else , it's not a race.
Red Bull better have their protests ready to go. Because this isn't a championship fight anymore either
Gio is showing his displeasure with Alfa Romeo by scraping chunks off the car on the sausage kerbs.
Oh dear this will trigger skidmark.
Sir Lewis is wearing a rainbow helmet to support the LGBTQ community.
(Can't imagine the Qataris are too thrilled, either).
I wonder how many will try it on in the World Cup - its a great opportunity to fook off both the Qataris and FIFA - two regimes that are equally morally corrupt.
WTF are Race Control doing? They deleted a Valteri lap for track limits that they hadn't actually told the drivers about.
Imagine if they did that in qualifying? C u n t s.
The stewards (predictably) have let Mad Max off the hook for forcing Lewis off the track, by refusing to review the cockpit video that clearly shows the lunatic making no attempt to make the corner.
Whinger spice is doing his best to contain his glee.

I think whinger has been on the vodka red bulls!
"Expedential"
"Splurious"
WTF!
^ and the fact the knowledge is in the public domain just casts FIA in a bed light....again.
