^^ Do you have a link for that? I thought it was the rear wing that Red Bull were concerned about.

Anyway, have a read of a less biased account of the race...

    From another forum :

ed Bull are just as sure that something is amiss about the pace of the Mercedes as they were about Ferrari's pace in 2019 (we know how that turned out) Arguably they are more sure about the Mercedes now than they were about the Ferrari back then.

On the Mercedes pace in Brazil Christian Horner said the following:

"Obviously it is something, it is something that is enabling the car to do that kind of speed, you know that umm, something must happen. Physics wouldn't allow the kind of horsepower delta that you would need to achieve that."

"Hamilton was 27 km/h faster than Lando when he passed him, which is another formula"

    https://www.youtube....h?v=ypKyLBtisjQ

After Lewis overtook Max, he increased the gap by 9s over the next 12 laps. That's an average of over 7 tenths per lap. Mark Hughes wrote a piece which was quoted in the build up thread where Merc had increased the gap not just between them and RB but also to the other teams by double the seasonal average. Some of the overtakes yesterday made it look like other cars were standing still, including on cars which had DRS themselves!

It was a joke. It looked like an F1 car racing a field of F2 cars out there. And the most ridiculous and obvious thing is , he was on the medium tires on the sprint race! The medium tires were bad. The track was too cold. That's why Max couldn't pass Sainz. Yet Hamilton was on mediums.

If the 2019 Ferrari was illegal then this Mercedes need a looking at. And Red Bill knows it. F1 is walking into the biggest scandal yet.

^ Some pretty serious allegations there, but nothing to back it up with. Which is pretty typical for you and why nobody can be bothered...

Mad Max needs to learn some manners on the track.

They are just allegations. Just as they were with Ferrari. Horner and Marko have been at this for a long time. Both of them are saying that its just physics. He says they know what it is but they aren't going to tell us yet.

Thanks for the link. An excellent and detailed summary of influences to the actions on track.

The intricacies of engineering are something else that even Horner admits is beyond him. Apart from that, the Mercedes has been run fairly conservatively, until now.

Mercedes and Hamilton have nothing to lose at this stage of the season. Letting him turn the power up will either win the championship, or burn the engine.

Yeah. After getting beat in Mexico, Mercedes realized that they will have to reach for their bag of tricks of questionable legality, if they want a chance. So that's what they did. But they made it too obvious because they were so pissed about getting caught out with the out of spec wing.

Just a new ICE doesn't explain anything. They didn't take a new PU. Just ICE. Its ridiculous to suggest. Hamilton was on the medium tires for the sprint. If he was on the softs, he might have won the race. Last to first in 25 laps. 30 mk/h faster than everyone else.

Here's some other comments from it

I've been watching f1 for 35 years now, and although I've seen quite a few dominant cars, I've never seen such increase in 1 week nor such huge vmax speed diff. Not even remotely. (I dare anyone to find footage to the contrary). Cars reach vmax way before the end of the straight. so Lewis being able to get a better exit is no explanation.

Here's Alosno and his engineers reaction

    Oh don't worry about skidmark.

He's too stupid to have an opinion of his own, so he takes other peoples and pretends he understands them.

Just background noise on any thread really.

    That's pretty well it.

Unless they think they can win from a ten place drop if they decide one more ICE will do the trick.

But if they do it, Whinger Spice will have to respond.

Which drives a truck through the spirit of the engine regulations. But that's not even where the pace came from

Shamilton would have won the sprint race if he started on soft tires. That's the whole field dusted in 25 laps. And people thought the 2019 Ferrari was too fast on the straights to be legal

    Let's wait and see

If he turns out to be a "fashion icon" like Hamilton, Harry might go all gooey with this young man.

Im sure that Harry will judge the new guy in the same way he looks at Hamilton. Purely based on his merits as a racing driver.

If you're talking about the chinky driver, he's there for one reason and one reason only: He brings a wad of cash to the team.

You would have thought they'd learn their lesson from Mazepin.

Judging by their comments, there are at least three drivers who are mates with Gio who are probably not going to use kid gloves with his replacement.

I'm pretty sure the only driver happy about this is Mazepin.

Helge will go back to grindr now he's had his say.

They mostly start with a paid seat, or get a ride through nepotism, like Stroll.

Only proven experience and quality gets a salaried ride at this level. A few get sponsored through junior series, and if they are any good they actually earn their ride, like Hamilton.

Mazepin can't drive for shit, but daddy's paying for the whole Haas team so everyone has to lump it.
