A joke of a decision from the stewards but after all that whining from Horner I'm not surprised. He knows about as much about racing around Silverstone as that skanky spice girl he's married to.

I would have said it was Bottas' race to win now but he's not getting it out of the car is he?

This is going to be a tight finish.

    Vettel gets a DNF.

What's the chance Horner will be on the blower to Ferrari teling them to have a whine at the stewards as well?

I missed the start, only saw some photos of the incident so will have to wait for the highlights. No damage to Hamilton's car? Not sure why it deserved a 10s penalty yet but Hamilton wins anyway. Sounds like a good win...

Wing damage that was replaced after race was red flagged. I thought a close call but a proper one.

Red bull proved they still had the fastest car in the sprint. As Hamilton admitted after the sprint.

Which is why there was no need for Max to get agressive protecting the lead. Should have gave him the room and take it back later. Again. The Mercedes upgrades weren't good enough. Max would have been able to get the lead.

Did you not see the duct tape?

That was there for Bottas to take but he just isn't cutting it any more.

That's why I think he'll be moving next season.

Thanks backspin, but video not available in your country message. I've seen the video on YouTube now and think mad max didn't get his nickname without reason. He should have backed off. Not sure why 10s penalty, not that it mattered.

The irony is that Lewis did back off - you can hear it on his driver cam - but Max still decided to cut across him.

If he'd kept his foot down around the outside he would have stayed in front.

He made the wrong choice, plain and simple.

Two drivers fighting for the championship, they're going to get their elbows out, every driver has done it and every driver has been on the end of it.

Get over it and move on.

This is what people wanted - motor racing.

Now they're getting it, all the new Red Bull glory hunters are whining like stuck pigs.

F off. Toto would be saying the same thing. Mercedes is slow. Red Bull still had the fastest lap and the pole. Hamilton won because the fastest car wasn't on the track.

Hamilton is fully to blame for this accident, and this penalty is not even close to acceptable. He needs to be docked race points and forced to sit out a race. Absolutely unbelievable.

These decisions are probably best left to people who know what they are talking about.

Yep. Top 2 cars piloted by top 2 drivers going at is what I want to see. F1 needs more of it. Wheel to wheel and at some point shit happens. When it does, the stewards make the call. End of the day, teams win some lose some. Opinions aside, get ready for the next race.

Interesting comment from Giacomelli last year:

Recently, ex McLaren driver Bruno Giacomelli noted the marked improvement in F1’s safety standards. He even cited the example of Red Bull driver Max Verstappen, and his affinity for aggressive driving. According to the Italian, Verstappen would not have survived in F1 during his era of racing.
