The UEFA EURO 2024 finals 14 June to 14 Jul

As the host nation, Germany are seeded in Group A and will occupy position A1; they will therefore play in the opening match at the Munich Football Arena on Friday 14 June. Germany/West Germany have featured at every EURO since 1972. West Germany won the 1972 and 1980 editions, while the reunited Germany triumphed at EURO '96.
    Who has qualified for EURO?

The draw for the final tournament was held in Hamburg on Saturday 2 December.
Group A: Germany, Scotland, Hungary, Switzerland
Group B: Spain, Croatia, Italy, Albania
Group C: Slovenia, Denmark, Serbia, England
Group D: Play-off winner A, Netherlands, Austria, France
Group E: Belgium, Slovakia, Romania, Play-off winner B
Group F: Türkiye, Play-off winner C, Portugal, Czechia

The last three final tournament spots are determined via the play-offs, scheduled for March 2024.

    What is the tournament format?

The format will be the same as for UEFA EURO 2020. The top two in each of the six final tournament groups will proceed to the round of 16 along with the four best third-placed finishers.
Where and when will the final of UEFA EURO 2024 be played?

Berlin's Olympiastadion will stage the final on Sunday 14 July 2024.
What are the EURO 2024 host cities?

    EURO 2024: The host cities

The ten venues chosen to host games at the tournament include nine of the stadiums used at the 2006 World Cup plus the Düsseldorf Arena.
Uniquely, the Munich Football Arena will be staging matches for the second EURO in succession; Bayern München's home ground was one of 11 arenas that hosted games at UEFA EURO 2020.
    Host venues are as follows:
Berlin: Olympiastadion Berlin (current capacity: 70,000)
    Cologne: Cologne Stadium (47,000)
    Dortmund: BVB Stadion Dortmund (66,000)
    Dusseldorf: Düsseldorf Arena (47,000)
    Frankfurt: Frankfurt Arena (48,000)
    Gelsenkirchen: Arena AufSchalke (50,000)

    Leipzig: Leipzig Stadium (42,000)
    Munich: Munich Football Arena (67,000)
    Stuttgart: Stuttgart Arena (54,000)

When do EURO 2024 tickets go on sale?

Following the conclusion of the successful general public application window, which saw applications for over 20 million tickets, UEFA has announced details of the second sales phase for EURO 2024.

EURO ticket portalFollowing the final tournament draw, another sales phase will start for the fans of the 20 qualified teams, as well as hosts Germany. This sales phase will not start at the same time, but according to the schedule defined by each participating national association (PNA).
Tickets will also be held back for sale to supporters of the national teams that qualify through the UEFA EURO 2024 play-offs, scheduled for 21 March and 26 March 2024.

I've applied for 7 games in total: 3 group stages, 3 knockout rounds and the final (which I obviously won't get).

The plan is to split my time between east and west before ending up in Munich. I did 3 weeks for the World Cup in 2006, but it will have to be 10 days or so this time.

Didn't bother applying for any England games 'cos I couldn't think of anything worse than being surrounded by dickhead England fans.

    Germany is fucking great.

You mean you didn't bother applying for England games because you have no chance of getting tickets, and the random city approach gives you a chance anyway.

Why on earth would I want to spend my time with a load of little In-ger-lun-ders singing about 2 world wars and 1 world cup?

I support the team but want nothing to do with their (often) cretinous ABU supporters.

Anyway, I ended up applying for a game a day from the last round of fixtures of the group stages until the final.

Any time in Germany is a good time.

They seem to come mostly from SE England, so more will be United fans than 'ABU's'.

True, we are the biggest club in England and command support from every corner of the land, but matchgoing fans mostly don't follow the national team (see the frequent chants of "Argentina" etc for evidence of this).

You may recall the booing of Maguire and Beckham, and singing "Stand up if you hate Man U" at Wembley while Beckham, Scholes, Butt and Neville were on the pitch as to some of the reasons why.

Or you could just be talking your usual shit.

Yeah, maybe you'd better go back to the good stuff via one of your links.

The number of people who give a either way about United these days is waaay lower than when the likes of Scholes & Beckham were playing.

You don't seem to be able to process the fact that in football terms it was a pretty long time ago.

Jingoism clearly being the main point of the post, but still Cy managed to pick up on one comment about ABUs!
