Without a doubt. Very impressive and there's power there too, but not just speed.

Twenty years ago, my martial arts teacher said that Tyson had the most perfect technique of any boxer he'd seen. We could well see a comeback.... he looks way better than Foreman did for his comeback.

I would prefer to remember the boxer from 30 years ago.

Awesome from a heavyweight of such small stature when compared to his opponents.

He's better off letting the cartoons make money for him.

    And good for him.

Apparently he's worth about 3 million, which is just fine as long as he can forget that he earned 700 million.

I'm not into Boxing like a lot of you guys are but have never seen anything like Tyson when he was in his prime. The look of absolute terror on his opponents faces was un-hidable as they faced off to get their final instructions before the opening bell, with good reason when they knew that right uppercut would be coming their way very shortly. Best Heavyweight I've ever seen, and occasionally still watch YouTube vids of his highlights to remember why he really was the baddest man on the planet.

That's stretching it a bit, but he was without a doubt the best swarmer.

LD's comment was just as chance to boast again about his own martial arts, prowess.

Not sure what a swarmer is?? He had a fantastic defense.Never got hit that much in his earlier days.As KW says, he was a midget. Only 5'10". Even in his day, most heavy weights were 6'2" to 6'5".
By his own admission though, it was easier to punch up than punch down. I'm sure Snubby knows all about this, being an elite boxer and all...

Jeezus what a creepy stalker you are. Just because you yourself did not partake in sport does not mean that others like myself didn't. I was hardly an elite boxer I did train and partake in it as a youth. As an adult I used boxing training for fitness.

A swamer is somebody that fights on the inside.

When boxing, instead of using your jab and reach advantage, you step into your opponent and box close (like body to body).

Tyson was a classic example of this. When you see him fight, he lowers his body and weaves into his opponent. You never saw him standing in the middle of the ring jabbing his way through a round. In his heyday, he spent most of his time putting his opponent on the ropes, knocking 10 bells of shit out of them.

This suited Tyson's style. The taller guys tried to use their jab on him, but as soon as the right jab is thrown, Tyson could get on the left inside and start working.

This explains t better than I could...

Cus D’Amato, Tyson’s coach, was an expert at utilizing head movement to make his fighters difficult targets. He developed the peek-a-boo boxing style, which included continuous movement of the head, trunk, and hips, especially after throwing punches. The deep inside slip, a trademark of D’Amato’s peek-a-boo style, required a fighter to slip inside his opponent’s jab and bend down deep to the left side. This put Tyson in the perfect position to land his counter punches, which most often turned out to be knockout punches. D’Amato realized that implementing the peek-a-boo style in Tyson’s fight game would increase his already devastating power.
