    Excellent result . . . what happened?

Lucky first goal, Spaniards hitting the crossbar, sublime second goal . . . nicely done.

2-3 is hardly a lesson, but Belgium is also hardly a bad side. A trial game, full of new ideas . . . who knows if it will gel by the time the cup rolls around.

Müller, Gnabry, Can, Musiala . . . a very good quartet with players like Wirtz and Goretzka (when he's not injured) nicely adding to that. Germany still needs a 'Kaiser', be it someone like Schweinsteiger, Lahm etc . . .

It must feel good to be English for a change . . . well, in terms of football . . . until the serious part of the tournament.

    Still:

. . . and how many Euros? . I believe one of them was in England.

Yea, we can afford a bit of a lean period.

Is one a striker? Thats what you missed at the World Cup...Its another Jurgen Klinsmann that you need.
Oh hang on, Is that the veteran Thomas Muller in your list. Has he not retired/died yet?

The tiny totts: Always a font of comedy gold.

Tottenham are urgently seeking clarification from FIFA over the decision to hand managing director of football Fabio Paratici a worldwide ban from football.

Paratici, who was initially handed a 30-month ban from Italian football in January relating to alleged financial mismanagement at Juventus, had that extended to worldwide activities by FIFA on Wednesday.

Spurs have said they were given "no advance notice" from world football's governing body.

Indonesia, the world’s most populous Muslim-majority nation, has been stripped of the right to host its first major football event amid opposition to the participation of Israel.

The football-mad nation was scheduled to stage the men’s Under-20 FIFA World Cup from May 20 to June 11 and hoped the 24-team tournament would begin to repair its battered reputation after last year’s stadium tragedy in East Java.

Controversy over the qualification of Israel, however, has resulted in the event being removed from the South-East Asia’s largest nation by the game’s world governing body FIFA, which indicated it may also consider sanctions against the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI).

“FIFA has decided, due to the current circumstances, to remove Indonesia as the host of the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2023,” FIFA said in a statement.

“A new host will be announced as soon as possible, with the dates of the tournament currently remaining unchanged. Potential sanctions against the PSSI may also be decided at a later stage.”

Yea . . . nah . . . Klinsmann, Müller, Klose etc . . . we don't have one, which is why Müller is still good value.

Nope but still a good player. World class? Well, he leads well.

Nope, not happy at all. I'm happy with about four /five players, hence: "Müller, Gnabry, Can, Musiala . . . a very good quartet with players like Wirtz and Goretzka (when he's not injured) nicely adding to that.

    That's half a line-up.

I'm late to the party after last week's 2-1 annihilation of Italy (I won't use "destruction" to talk about the Ukraine victory), but I can't wait for the finals to see Jude running around the pitch with the Euro Champs trophy.

    It's coming home again!

Marvellous stuff. Best game of the weekend.

Mental that only one of those teams will be promoted automatically.

    Great!
Notts County played some good stuff too. Some good footballers there.

Just look how far in front of the rest they both are!
