Is it just me or is society inexorably crawling backwards? WTF is wrong with people?

Cancer charities have condemned the “abhorrent” chants from Cork City fans targeting Shamrock Rovers manager, Stephen Bradley’s nine-year-old son, who is battling leukaemia.

A small number of individuals subjected Bradley to vile songs about his son Josh, who went through treatment for leukaemia last summer, from outside Turner’s Cross last night.

It comes as Cork City today said it will issue lifetime bans to supporters who abused the Shamrock Rovers boss.

The Irish Cancer Society said it was “shocked and saddened” by the reports and praised the Bradley family for their strength.

A spokesperson said: "It is abhorrent to use the experience of a childhood cancer diagnosis in such a hurtful and hateful way.

Anyone who has been through a cancer diagnosis will know how traumatic and difficult it is for the entire family.

“The Irish Cancer Society is shocked and saddened by these reports and the weaponising of such a serious illness.

“Stephen and his family have even found the strength to fundraise for others affected by childhood cancer despite Josh’s diagnosis."

Childhood Cancer Ireland also said there is “no place for this kind of behaviour in sport or anywhere else in society”.

Laura Cullinan, CEO of the charity and parent of a childhood cancer survivor said:

“There is no place for this kind of behaviour in sport or anywhere else in society. It is abhorrent to most of us but clearly not to everyone and that is unacceptable.

Anyone remember a goalkeeper named John ‘Budgie’ Burridge?

He played for just about every team in Scotland and England.

I’m working with his Son and he mentioned it since he played for Aberdeen too.

I don’t remember him but I’ve read up a bit and it was quite interesting.

The Oldest Premier League Player Of All-Time Stayed Limber With This Warm Up Routine

Legendary English goalkeeper John Burridge played professionally into his late 40s. Here’s how.

Maybe you’ve never heard of John “Budgie” Burridge. That’s understandable, because although his career lasted nearly 30 years, he spent that time bouncing around 29 different clubs. However, he did make over 50 appearances for eight different teams: Blackpool, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Wolves, Sheffield United, Southampton, Newcastle United and Hibernian.

It wasn’t until the tail end of his career that he started racking up the club passport stamps as a one or two-game emergency keeper. It was during that time, during the 1994-95 season, that Burridge turned out for Manchester City in the Premier League.

At that point, he was 43 years, four months and 26 days of age, making him the oldest player to appear in the EPL. Needless to say, this probably wouldn’t fly with Pep Guardiola and the City we now know.

Basically the forefather to Ederson. Photo: @_footballers1 | Twitter

Anyway, here’s how Burridge stayed so limber in goal. It’s the greatest warm up routine outside of Diego Maradona.

If you can pull this off at 43, you too can have a body like John Burridge.

    Fkin ell.

Real Madrid have agreed to sign England midfielder Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund for an initial fee of £88.5m.
Dortmund say the figure for Bellingham could surpass £115m with add-ons, making him the most expensive British player ever at the age of just 19.

Burridge has a lot of zero appearances on his list!

Liverpool should have bought Bellingham and Rice... Go on, break the bank and compete with Man City.

Yeah he basically became an emergency fill in keeper so mostly on the bench just in case.

Yes, but they'd have to fiddle the books and take some under the counter payments like Lance Armstrong FC in order to do that.

They'd have to flog quite a few dodgy timeshares to meet that transfer fee.

Having seen just what it meant to the players, the staff and the fans, I've kinda changed my mind about that Euro Conference League or whatever the poxy name is. Well done to the hammers.

    Liverpool next year?

Spare a thought for Danny Dyer.

He's just seen his club win a European trophy, but the players and just about every West Ham fan on the planet are singing a song about his daughter getting shagged.

8 PL teams will be playing in Europe next season.

There coulda been a clause to make it 9 if Man City win the CL.

Which of course is 1 team short of being half the fokin' league.
