Q3 and Max must fancy his chances of a front row.
Q3 and Max must fancy his chances of a front row.
Whoa....
Max takes pole in the first lap of Q3!
Bottas and Hammy 2 and 3.
What have they all got left in the tank?
What a session.
Bottas gets pole!
Hammy alongside him on the front row.
Mad Max 3rd.
Pepe Le Pew gets 4th!
An amazing lap from Bottas, thoroughly deserves to be up there.
I guess they don't need to find an excuse to penalise Hammy this week.
Great start from Hammy but Bottas took him back on turn two and Valteri's car appears to be purring like a kitten.
No safety car yet for a change!
Everyone on softs except Vettel who's back down the field in 12th.
Bottas made a boo boo... Lewis is off into the distance. Mad Max is stuck behind Bottas until he puts at the end of this lap.
Russell has a puncture. Added: Because Kimi did a bit of drifting - into him.
Bottas pits onto a medium.
Will Lewis switch to the hard tyre when his turn comes or stick with a two stop?
Oh dear Bottas is limping home with partial power.
It's Hammy vs Mad Max.
It would be good to see the Hulk get in the points after his introduction to the circuit and starting 20th....
A comfortable record-equalling 91st win for Lewis. There was a touching moment when Mick Schumacher came up and presented him with one of Michael's helmets during the post-race interview. He took it up to the podium as well, although I notice he was careful to make sure it was removed and not splattered with Moet.
Max ran a tidy 2nd and nicked the fastest lap at the end.
And a brilliant podium for Ricciardo means that he won a bet with team boss Cyrille Abiteboul who now has to get a tattoo - of Daniel's choice.
Oh the fucking fun he could have with that one!
On to the Algarve on the 25th October. If Lewis can arrange a 2nd there it's all set up for him to break the record on Ferrari's home turf.
FP2 is almost as fun as a race. We've already had two red flags, Gasly's Alphatauri went up in flames and Mad Max just got hit by Stroll.
FP3 starts in 15 minutes.
Bottas is showing the pace again this weekend, but can he translate it into Pole, or even better the race win?
Track limits at Portimao have been changed for the rest of the Portuguese Grand Prix weekend after a staggering total of 125 lap times were deleted at Turns 1 and 4 over the two free practice sessions on Friday.
Track limits at Turns 1 and 4 were particularly strict as, if a car went fully across the white line at the edge of the circuit, the driver’s lap time would be deleted. As a result, on Friday, every driver on the grid had at least one lap deleted in either FP1 or FP2 on Friday: 43 laps at Turn 1 and 82 laps deleted at Turn 2 over the day.
Ahead of FP3 on Saturday, the FIA issued a document to show that track limits have been edited at Turns 1, 4 and 15.
From now on, at Turns 1 and 4, times will only be deleted if drivers leave the track and cut behind the red and white kerb on the exits of those corners.
