If Bottas doesn't slow him down, it's going to be close....

It's Mad Max's to lose. The tyre gamble wasn't on safety cars but tyre performance and the Mercedes were frying them at the start.

Great win for Mad Max and well done the strategists. Got that spot on.

Hammy joins Schumacher on 155 podiums. That record won't last long.

Pepe is ecstatic about his fourth place.

That is how far Ferrari have fallen.

Good win for mad Max...well done to him.

Hamilton manages second place. Merc was really eating the tyres again and the punctures last week will have been a big influence.

Yes, I don't think they were confident those tyres would go to the end of the race at that pace. Made the right call coming in.

Mercedes front row and another Pole for Hammy.

But what will the tyres do on this furnace of a track?

Simply majestic driving, and he was so focused he didn't even know the Chequered Flag was out.

Couple of weeks break then it's off to Belgium.

Formula 1 has confirmed the final four races for the 2020 season, including Turkey's return after a nine-year absence and two grands prix in Bahrain.

With Abu Dhabi staging the final round on December 13, it means the sport has constructed an impressive 17-race calendar after the delays and restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The next two are great fun, both low drag circuits built for speed with setup crucial to remaining on the track...

Mad Max has been going nicely in FP. He made a pigs arse of the last lap and was still less than a tenth Bottas' lead wih Hammy 3/10ths back.

    Quali at 8pm Thailand.

50% chance of rain in the middle of the race tomorrow.

That should give Ferrari some heart.

Hammy cruises to a record 6th pole and new track record. He makes it look so easy.

    Dedicates it to Chadwick. Nice.

Bottas alongside, Mad Max in 3rd.

I notice Vettel was 2s off the pace. Wasn't there a time (1980's?) when you had to be within 2s of pole to qualify for the race?

After watching that 2 season Netflix Doco, numbers 4 and 5 on that grid are outstandingly good guys.

So here's hoping the front 3 take each other out on the first bend.

It looks as if the circuit will be dry for the race...no repeat of 1998 where Coulthard took out half the field in the first start and then Schumacher when he was leading.

I'm not gonna start watching races again till the new cars come out. Sounds like the whole field will have a better chance with the 2022 car. New cars look as horny as ever
