Has the balance in Scottish football moved on since the inclusion of managers from the EPL?

Have any other teams apart from the two main Glasgow clubs offered a challenge at the top of the SPL?

    Asking out of morbid curiosity.

Don’t get too concerned about Celtic pedo allegations. Rangers had a very prominent one in Gordon Neely.
Well Rangers hired the paedo from Hibs, so no surprise he was kiddie fiddling there. Hibs, of course, kept it quiet.

They don't usually hire good ones, they can't generally afford them.

Scottish football will always be a 2 horse race as the other 10 clubs just cannot match the budget. But out with the Ugly Sisters there are still 2 Euro spots to play for.

As it stands going into the last 5 games, there are only 11 points between relegation and European positions, so it's an incredibly tight league. However the league has now split and the top 6 will play each other as will the bottom 6. The highest position for the bottom 6 is 7th place, and the lowest place for the top 6 is 6th.

My team, Aberdeen, Have been all over 3rd and 4th Euro spots for the last 10 years and were close title contenders when Rangers went into administration after they were heavily fined for cheating just over 10 years ago. Somebody started a new company, Sevco that play under the name The Rangers FC and they started in the lowest division and worked their way up to the Scottish Premier League. In their 8th or 9th year in existence, they done what no other club has ever done, and claimed their 55th league title. Idiots.

Anyway, everything went to shit for Aberdeen last season. We appointed a rookie manager from our sister club in USA, Atlanta United, where he was managing their B team. We have dealt with incredibly poor refereeing decisions that has cost us games and they league could have been very different. Our Manager was sacked and a new Manager appointed, so there is a massive exodus going on as he gets rid of all the dead wood. Anyway, as last-minute-never-a-penalty howler by the ref dumped us into the bottom 6 in injury time.

Now we are voting for VAR to be introduced in Scotland. 75% of each league in Scotland must vote in favour, even though the lower leagues can't afford it, they get a vote too.

    Celtic will win the league
    Sevco 2nd
    hearts 3rd.
Dundee Utd, Ross County and Motherwell will battle it out for 4th place Euro Spot.

Hibs, Livingston, Aberdeen, St Mirren will battle it out for 7th
St Johnston will try to get out of the relegation playoff 11th position, with only 8 points beween them and Hibs (7th), any one of the bottom 6 are still not safe from relegation playoff.
    Dundee will be relegated.

Kilmarnock, Arbroath, Inverness Caley Thistle and Partick Thistle are all playing for Promotion from the Championship.

Everyone still hates The Rangers the most.
    Lang may yer lum reek...

Stephen Glass, ex-player and was a fans favourite.

After a poor run of results the fans called for his head. We're happier with our new experienced manager, Jim Goodwin.

Strange thing is, if we had VAR to fuck off a few bad decisions that cost us games, we'd be competing for Europe and Glass would be a hero. The league is that close.

Var was much maligned in our brief sojourn at the top table. (Sheffield United). Now in the championship, the fans are hoping for it to come back.
I think the good and bad decisions even out over a few seasons, but short termism rules for most.
    Thanks for the answer.

The problem with VAR is decisions are made in a studio and the referees don't have the balls to overturn them.

Though it worth mentioning that for the first time in a while we actually have a contest on our hands.

Celtic dropped two points at Kilmarnock and now Rangers can get their noses in front if they can win at St. Johnstone today.

3-0 to the good guys, although VAR had to correct some glaring refereeing errors.

    Rangers go top.
