    Rugby World Cup 2019

Here we go, here we go!

    What:

    The Nations playing:

It all kicks off 18 September. Who are you supporting? Like many, I support my home nation plus a "minnow". So this cup year it will be the All Blacks and my "minnow" team will be *Australia* (crosses arms over head and ducks). Nah, I'll be backing Georgia.

    Early pool pix:

    Pool A:
    Ireland (1)
    Japan (2)
    Samoa (3)
    Scotland (4)
    Russia (5)

    Pool B:
    New Zealand (1)
    Saf' Efrica (2)
    Italy (3)
    Canada (4)
    Namibia (5)

    Pool C:
    Argentina (1)
    England (2)
    France (3)
    Tonga (4)
    USA (5)

    Pool D:
    Wales (1)
    Australia (2)
    Fiji (3)
    Georgia (4)
    Uruguay (5)

    **********************

Possible movers will be Fiji to move into the 2 spot over Aussie, France to surprise the fuck out of everyone and win Pool C, and Scotland to make the quarterfinals.

Some pretty good group games there.

Japanese times should make for good TV times in Thailand.

Any info on KO times for the matches yet?

Japan is two hours ahead of Thailand. Fortunately Japan hasn't messed about with Daylight Savings Time since 1951, so...

Should be good. Can't see France getting through. Scotland will get through.

Pool C will be the pool to watch as matches between Argentina, England, and France should be entertaining.

Watching the Jaguares in the super rugby, I can see Argentina topping the group beating both England and France. Ireland have shot their bolt, not the team of 12-18 months ago and I can see Scotland beating them and topping the group.

Nice to see some Scottish confidence going into a big tournament; they have quarterfinal/semifinal potential, imho.

Should definitely make the quarter's then face SA or NZ, wouldn't give us much of a chance against NZ but I'm sure we can give SA a game although the main worry there is the strength of their pack compared to the Scottish pack. The front row being Scotlands biggest weakness.

If you want Thai times, change the time zone pull down to GMT+7 (Asia - Bangkok).

There are lots of warm up games plus a Rugby Championship before the main course.

With the likely exception of Uruguay, Pool D may have some surprising results.

One would like to think you would have upgraded to a 150" screen and 4K projector by then.

I'd like to think that for sure... which unfortunately is about as far as it'll go.

I was looking at one of those new OLED or whatever 80" screens the other day when getting all the stuff for my bar. Cool but still quite pricey, B100k or so

You can get a decent projector and screen for <Bt60k and have a decent 120" picture you know.
