One thing I have noticed, and my best mates are mainly British, that they, particularly the Poms take these games so seriously in fact I witnessed two English supporters actually crying tears of joy after they beat the Kiwis.
You walk into a British Pub and all the talk is about the final.
Anyway I hope the best team wins and I am going to put the mocker on the Poms and predict they will win the game by 12 points.

Boo will be along in a minute to confidently predict an England win. And defeat. And draw.

Ant, how does that rate as close to a full strength team?

What is the AB's track record against Wales?

New Zealand will win, Wales have a lot of injuries and limited depth.

England will win, we are the bloody dog's bolloks.

Near enough to it I suppose. I don't really think you could call any team selected from the WC squad a 'B' side to be fair.

A bit one-sided... They haven't beaten us since 1953 and the last encounter was 33 - 18 (2017 in Wales).

That would have been a better team to face England, IMHO...

Strong side, that. No TJ Perenara either. Hmm...Weber makes up for that as he has been excellent this whole year.

Seems a bit harsh... every team good naturedly indulges New Zealand doing the haka, yet it seems you have to be very careful how you accept that challenge.

Rugby World Cup: England fined for crossing halfway line before New Zealand match

England have been fined a four-figure sum for crossing the halfway line as they lined up in a V formation to face the haka before their Rugby World Cup semi-final match against New Zealand.

World Rugby rules stipulate teams must remain within their own half of the pitch to receive the challenge.

Maybe but who's to really say and I doubt it would've had much effect either way had England played the same anyways.

I'm legit starting to warm-up to this Bronze play-off game also. Obviously all involved would prefer it was the final but good chance we'll at least see two teams throwing caution to the wind and having a crack.

Noted that. I would've thought maybe Perenara to get the start and Weber on the bench (or vice-versa) in the name of letting the whole squad have a run but obviously not.

On further thought I'd say Taylor and Whitelock have been omitted simply due to the amount of rugby they've already played this season.

I'm assuming that a few of the AB's are retiring after this game, so it would be good (for you) from that point of view to see them off.

I still remember when the AB's retired Richie McCaw in NZ @ Eden Park.

Was tempted to put the House on the KIWI's to win ... but ended up only wagering the front door

2,500 pounds is only a symbolic slap on the wrist; everyone appreciated the effort by England.

Arranged my ticket pick up, starting to get excited about the trip. Two potential issues:

    1) How to go from Narita to Yokohama (I'm hoping trains will be available from the airport) - British & SA flights don't arrive around the same time as mine, so transport shouldn't be 100% rammed/booked at that time. Arrive at 11am, wanna be in Yokohama by 14:30; it's a two hour train ride. The hospitality is at Yokohama Arena which is a 5 minute walk from Shin-Yokohama train station and 10 minutes from the stadium, so that should work perfectly at that end.

    2) Should I make a plan from after the game hospitality closing (around 10pm ish) and being at the airport by 9am the next morning??? I'm thinking - go with the flow... Maybe pre-book an early train back to the airport and hope I can find an all-night party.
    Cycling should be banned!!!

    And stay in that area...

Maybe a Plan B could be to have a RSA supporters shirt secreted away if, God forbid, England don't lift the Cup.

    I'm a 'have a Plan B, just in-case' sort of guy

^ that, Sir, is beauty at it's finest!

^^ we do not require a plan B off the field, we will win because Sir Eddie has an amazing plan A, B and C.

^^^ Armstrong, grow a pair! (There's a dozen planes a day between Japan and Korea, it's close; I could probably swim back if I need to... )

I don't really agree with this:

    I'd have: NZ no.1; England no.2; SA no.3.

If SA win and NZ win then I'd have: NZ no.1; SA no.2;England no.3.

If England and NZ win then I'd have: England no.1; NZ no.2; SA no.3. Wales no.4

If England and Wales win then I'd have England no.1; NZ no.2; SA/Wales == 3

In this WC, NZ already comfortably beat SA, so I don't see any reason why SA jump over them. Also, 1 win against NZ doesn't shoot England to number 1 because we beat an average/decent Australia and a poor Argentina (we also lost to Wales recently) - that's just not enough.

I don't like the way they do the rankings on 1 game. I could understand England/NZ being ==1 now, and England clear no.1 if they beat SA, but as we saw with Ireland and Wales being no.1 recently, it's kinda silly - maybe doing the rankings every 3 months, and certainly not until the end of the WC...

The whole rankings system is a bit, well, weird.

Both Ireland and Wales were #1 during this tournament.

England have named an unchanged side for the final.

Bring it on you antelope shaggers.
