    Chit you are irrepressibly optimistic.

Still you are right, you have to be in it to win it and i confess that because i thought no one would have an ice cubes chance in hell of winning it i didn't expose the goodies.

A mate of mine won the Metro one a decade ago and pocketed £5000 plus a couple of other comps.
He entered all the competitions and really studied the form.
Fooker did it all in work time as well.

When the News of the World first started their fantasy football league there was a £100k prize but it cost a few quid to enter via a 50p a minute phone line.
It's all come a long way since then.
Tbf finishing the season above the 2000pt Mark is an achievement.

I won £100 in the daily telegraph fantasy football about 25 years ago, think it was a monthly prize, fuck knows how I won as picked players at random and was all done by post back then with results just in the paper.

By post! Must have been one of the first competitions.

You gonna have a craic this season?

Good for studying the form and placing a few bets along the way.

Got a feeling this season is gonna be profitable.

I got banned from the local bookies 25 odd years ago for putting on loads of 10 pence accumulators.

Had a 16 fold come in once and won £400 from a 10p bet.

Bookie got pissed off calculating the bets.

    All pre computers...

Yes I think the daily telegraph was one of the first to do it, was free or just had to send some stamps if I remember, might have even been longer than 25 years ago as that would have made me 21 and pretty sure was still in late teens when the cheque came through the post.

An average of 52 points per game, or 4.7 points per player, if me fingers n toes didn't let me down.

Not a bad average, though can be substantially boosted with double game weeks and using that Wildcard and Free Hit wisely as they come along.

^ I stuck in an Arsenal defender too. They've got a relatively easy opening run of games.

Nice one Betts, the dilemma with picking City players is wether they'll get a game and points.

Bets you'll pick it up fairly quickly.

For those who've not played before, I apologise i should have pointed you to this link which is a fairly digestible summary of the basics.
