Spain are doing a decent job of holding the US at bay.

One hopes they can nick it with an injury time winner and send the gloating seppos home.

Seppos won it with a dodgy penalty even with a VAR review.

sweden v canada, dull first half, but came to life in the final 45minutes.sweden through 1-0,with the V.A.R. getting the thumbs up.womens football seems to have come on leaps and bounds, since I watched japan steal it many moons ago.
but I do think that the play acting is creeping in with players reading the script from the itias.

But they do spend fortunes on nails, hair and makeup, so it's understandable that they'd be upset if any of those are damaged.

Well the Wops sent the chinkies home for a bit of *cough* "re-education".

I wonder if the Cloggies can do the same to the nips. They're all about a foot taller, so it should be just a question of chucking high balls into the box.

holland v japan,a game of the highest quality, for 40minutes in the first have holland never gave japan an inch and led 1 nill, then japan came to life and played like they can,and equalized in the 43minute and gave holland a fright when they hit the cross bar.
second half was a classic untill the 90th.minute when holland scored a well taken goal,to reach the last 8.
some good games to look forward to,france v usa, england v norway, italy v holland,if i had to fancy a team on what i have watched its got to be HOLLAND.

being a taff, the only time i liked white was,the froth on the head of a pint of brains SA.brewed in wales, but after the first 45minutes it could have been 5-0 and it should have been.second half they did try and commit hari kari but should have been a bit more aware with only a 2goal lead, then 3 but they still did try and give Norway a slim hope.
I can see MISS BECKAM in a few yrs time doing where her dad left off.
tonight /morning FRANCE V USA never liked the frogs, but I want to see them kick ass and shut up the screaming yanks.

That third goal was a strike of beauty.

You would definitely not want her giving you a kick in the nuts.

Bitchy game. Ukrainian Ref is taking no shit.

USA went up by 2 goals.

France score 1 at the 80th min mark.

Goal scorer for France looks like a bloke ... 6 ft 2 inches of
    Wendie Renard

France denied a USA hand ball penalty to potentially even the game to 2 - 2

EDIT:- and that's how it ended.

The froggies had the better of possession.

Would have been a classic to watch the French and English clash ... but it won't be.

The Septics will play the Soap Dodgers ... I wonder which team the French crowd will get behind?

WTF is the point in having VAR if you are only going to use it when you feel like it?

Compared to all the previous ones, that was a definite penalty.

....and allows [VAR] too much notions towards personal/political bias and judgement.
One could find ten different variables regarding any given called or non-call foul.

you should have seen the copa game this morning, paraguay v peru there or was the v.a.r.in operation blatent blindness or fking BENT officials, even players going down as if they had been hit with 2ton baseball bats yet not a mark on any player.for all the star players cavani and the forward with the full set of munchers couldn't hit the target if the goal posts were 50ft.wide,and as for peru not one shot on target, but went through to the semi's 5-4 on penalties.
and who was it that missed the Paraguay penalty, that pilock who but the bite on that full back for juve.in the last world cup.
