England were the best team out of that last 4 but, even though we were shorn of quite a few players due to injury and the CL, they'd never be winners unless they grew up and became more streetwise. We got done by Holland with absolutely abysmal defending when we'd pretty much dominated and spunked chance after chance.

Same old fucking story again: our defending against Holland was schoolboy stuff and we missed chance after chance against Switzerland when it should have been done and dusted.

I've been saying the same bloody thing since 1990. 1986 we were robbed, but it's always the same kind of shit since then when we've had a decent team.

We never seem to fucking learn.

They just quit the 90 minutes + extra time palaver and go straight to the pens.
