    OLEGEND

"The fans are a big part of this club. The singing section there kept the players going with their belief. That is what you do at Manchester United on a Champions League night. This corner of the stadium here are the best in the world. There is a bit of time when you are down as a supporter but you keep going.

"I thought we played well first half too. Two chances, two goals. It had to stop if we are to survive. We have a habit of doing this at this club. I thought we played well and they scored a goal out of nothing and then another set-piece. But they never stopped believing and kept going.
"Don't disrespect the players. They play for Manchester United and they know they are the luckiest men in the world. Tonight they are the luckiest men in the world because they get to play for Manchester United. That is what so many millions of boys and girls want to do."

Liverpool, Spurs and Man city next in the PL.

    Squeaky bum time.

Mass predictions that this is the time he'll be 'found out'.

Could well be on the receiving end of at least two good ol' fashioned spit-roastings.

Some cheer for all real Mancunians , new free GMPTE pass, climb on board

    GMPTE

A heartening tale from the grim reality that is Lancashire

A cheerful cheeky chappy seeking love.

Gets his best trackie on and heads from the dank boglands of the Cheshire plain into Cottonopolis to pick a Dilly

A few gargles at the Ape n Apple, The Old Monkey, Peveril of the Peak, before being invited to a dive bar called The Eagle meeting a perky bus driver.

On leaving feels just a small prick.

Awakes in a Canal Street Loft with legs dingling from a water bed

Chitty turns to Dilly and asks I hope you were the bride?

Of course, of course, would you like a fag , as he offers his packet.

There we have it a happy ending Manchester United in bliss.

Dilly blew hiim off at Picadilly Station by the GPMTE bus stop as he boarded the 69 VIP express to Muckersfield.
During the next bumpy hours with a very sore bottom the Etilad realised he had joined GMPTE.

My mate took his youngest to the game last night (what a game to start off with!), and we were chatting in our little Whatsapp group about Ole and the stick he's had over the years. He snapped a little last night at the questions from the press after the game, but who can fucking blame him? Yes, this run could be the end for him because we didn't look any closer to finding a solution to our problems, but the LEGEND has been gracious throughout his tenure - despite the constant shit from the press, which has been nothing short of a witch-hunt in some quarters - and has made us exciting to watch while improving us every year. Never let that be forgotten; if someone does come in, they come in to work with a very good squad.

Seeing that ground bounce again last night and the players fighting like fuck for him is what we're about. UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNITED!

Some old boozers there, dave. The Pev was a regular haunt when we were up Oxford Rd (or even Castlefield) way cutting our teeth in the pubs in the mid 90s.

There used to be a pub at Strangeways (near the Boddies brewery) where we would often kick off the night on Boddies Gold (a 5% beer that they don't do anymore) and work our way up Deansgate before ending up in 42s behind the old Topkapi Turkish restaurant. The other route was Castlefield to 5th Ave on Garratt Street (taking in the Pev and the student pubs on Oxford Rd along the way), which was the City area of town.

    Good times.

According to the Italian press, Pogba wants to stay.

Pogba, messaggio allo United: "Voglio restare a Manchester"

Despite our obvious flaws, there's a good atmosphere at the club between the fans and players at the moment. The vendetta against Ole since day one from the media seems to have brought us together.

The Marble is a CAMRA pub and a decent pub for the location; apparently, they even do cheeseboards now! Cheeseboards in Collyhurst! Who would have thought that possible 20 years ago?

Was it the Salford Arms near Salford station?

My takeaway from the game, which I'm watching again now, funnily enough, is that we were once again undone by terrible defending in the first half, but we could have been ahead at HT if we'd put our chances away. Clearly we were low on confidence, and we played poorly, but it wasn't like players didn't care as evidenced by the fightback.

However, it beggars belief that we employ a set-piece coach when we allowed their centre back to score from 4 yards out, virtually unchallenged. Another thing which was highlighted by Scholes on BT was the distance between McTominay and Fred and Fernandes. If we start like that on Sunday, and make similar stupid mistakes (like we did at Leicester), we'll be dead in the water with no coming back.

For all the criticism of Solskjaer, a lot of the mistakes are things you're told not to do when you're playing schoolboy football. Basic fucking stuff like not pissing about on the edge of your box (Maguire at Leicester), tracking your man (Vardy), conceding the foul to stop danger (Everton).

Of course, I'm concerned about Solskjaer - we all are - but it would help our cause a great deal if world class players stopped playing like plant pots.

He's available on a free from January. Despite his faults, and he's Marmite among United fans, he's a 100 million player and great for marketing. They're saving that straight off the bat for 3/400k a week.

Solskjaer had to actually shout at them to go long on Saturday when Leicester were pressing us as we tried to play out from the back. I mean, Cy, for fucks sake, surely the players can make this decision themselves? Likewise Fred not taking out his man against Everton when they broke. Stunningly naive and Ronaldo was pointing this out when they scored. Guardiola's teams wouldn't make these mistakes (and maybe that points a finger at Solskjaer, but these are experienced internationals we're talking about here).

I've just said I have my concerns about him and also above again. That doesn't mean the players have shouldn't bear responsibility though, but of course we want Ole to do well. He's a hero at OT.

You think the average player, even though its the one thing they are good at, has the IQ to do more than appreciate their own muscle memory - they are for the most part thick as pig shite. I think they should all get a percentage of their weekly wage tied to on field performance rather than getting overpaid to turn up and mince around the turf.

You've totally undermined your own defence of him there.

    Did my job for me.

This doesn't happen with Klopp, Guardiola, Tuchel or even Hodgson.

The players go through rigorous training so that they know what to do in many different situations.

They are drilled in what to do.

It takes time but, as the likes of Arteta and Potter have shown, in time (less than the time OGS has been in the job) the results are clear.

Not at all. I'm not OhOh levels here. Of course he has flaws that I readily admit (he got outwitted against Emery in the Europa with the subs he made- they were much fresher - and I still worry that we rely on our individuals for results), but Guardiola fucked up in the CL final too with his tinkering- the supposed greatest manager in the world who Ole has beaten more than anyone. We all make mistakes.

Would I take Conte over him now if I was asked the Q? Of course I would because he's a proven winner, but the vendetta from day 1 just makes us even more resolute in our support of him, and he's improved us every year since he's been here. Let's not forget that we've been on an upward trajectory season after season and the football is genuinely enjoyable for the most part.

My fear is that he may have taken us as far as he can, but I'll support him 100% until that is confirmed.

PS. Arsenal are utter shite. Arteta? Really?

PPS. Nice to talk football without all the shit-slinging nonsense anyway. Green owed.

    PPPS. I really like Potter. He's a top-level manager.
