    Btw, Happy New Year everyone.

Shame I couldn't get on earlier when we were on the crest of a 3 game unbeaten wave.

Enjoyed splattering The Trophy Avoiding Fannies last week though as we progressed one step further to Wembley.

We know what The Trophy Collectors do in May, don't we, ladies?

Amorim has apparently just said this could be the worst United team in history.

    1973/74 has just called, Ruben.

I know you're looking for the short, sharp, shock treatment, but that's probably not gonna do them much good.

One thing's for sure, life is never dull at England's biggest club, the record 20-time league winner and one of the greatest, most famous clubs in the world whose name you all look for in the sports - and sometimes front - pages every morning.

    Is it, ladies?

If you were manager, Hal, what players would you buy in for United?

Not much we can do at the moment cos our hands our tied with PSR. The first would be a natural left back (or left wing back under Amorim's system). Kerkes at Bournemouth or Ait-Nouri from Wolves. Shaw could be that man, but we all know his body is finished. Having to watch Dalot check back in on his right foot causes no amount of problems and drives me up the wall.

Obviously, Onana's goose is surely cooked now. He did well for the first half of the season, but he makes too many mistakes. He reminds me of Jim Leighton when he came down from Aberdeen and fell apart under the constant attention; he won't be the first to wilt under the pressure of playing for Manchester United and especially at Old Trafford. There's been talk of the Brighton keeper, but nobody really stands out for me at the moment that is gettable.

I'd like an experienced centre forward for Hojlund and Zirkzee to learn from too. Neither of them are ready to lead the line for Manchester United and should be learning from experienced pros around them.

But that leads me to my final point, which is the paucity of chances we create (and we are now creating even less). Look at Brighton today: they're a well organised team that play it from back to front. All we do when the onus is on us to attack is to lump it up to the CF with his back to goal or give it wide to Amad in the hope he'll do something good. We played in spells under Ten Hag, but now we don't even do that. It's dreadful and as a United fan, I can take losing, but I can't abide boredom and playing without wingers (if we are not playing well AND losing most weeks). Cunha from Wolves would be a great signing, but there'll be competition for him.

Short term, get a left back in, go back to 4-4-1-1 or 4-4-2 and then let him get his players in in the summer.

I'd sacrifice Garnacho for 60 million - no less - but Mainoo must stay. Use the funds wisely.

To also add, as Amorim pointed out when he came in, we are very weak physically (and mentally) as has been pointed out for years. We have some great players in the youth systems (we've won everything these last couple of seasons), but it would be a bloodbath to bring them in now.

Fernandes is a problem too. Sounds weird to say it as he saves us so many times, but he repeatedly gives the ball away, plays all over the show and when he has a poor game he is Fred levels of shiteness.

It's a tough one that though cos he gets what it is to play for United and can be world class on his day. Whether he is beneficial for the team is up for debate.

Still, I suppose with the moaners having risen from 15th to 13th in the league this week, he has a right to be excited.

    Happy New Year Hal!

    you ok Hal?
    sound almost Lucid.

thats a very honest assessment, and not much to disagree with.
you are at your post hodgson stage, but with more Paul Konchesky's.

you will need city levels of financial shithousery to turn this around, and get the roof fixed simultaneously.

sad to see Dennis Law go though.
    we won it at wemberlee
we on it in gay paree...

    Serious question for you Hal.

Out of the 700m Ray Shoesmith spent, how much of that would you think you'd recoup if you could sell them all?

    Sing along, H.

YOU COULDN'T BEAT 10 MEN, YOU COULDN'T BEAT 10 MEN, YOU COULDN'T BEAT 10 MEN...

    "disinterested Arsenal"

Well, that's one way of saying Trophy Avoiding Fannies...

I'm at ease with just the 2 trophies we'll be bringing home this season, mate.

Btw (nervously looking over his shoulder), did you know Luton went down in 18th last year with the same number of points we have now?

WE'RE STAYING UP! WE'RE STAYING UP! WE'RE STAYING....

I'm praying that the Trophy Avoiding Fannies will actually stop being Trophy Avoiding Fannies and prevent you equalling our 20 titles.

Not gonna happen with that lot though, is it?

    A fantastic achievement Haletta.

And I'd forgotten another fantastic Moaners achievement we've never managed to emulate.

    Good one, H.

Can you put your trophies on the table now?

I've been asking you to do this for almost as long as it is since you last won one.

    Can you? Will you?

    Of course you wont.

What? Denis Law scoring a goal for City against United.

    Like Tevez and countless others.

Perhaps there are some posters on here too young to remember the hilarity of that season. This fascinating video will explain it all.

Antony and Mount, perhaps 20m each.

The Donkey, perhaps 25m due to his age.

Onana, a copy of The Beano.

Surely with the latter a curly wurly would swing the deal.

    And still.

    A man waits.

You know, H, it's almost like you're avoiding the question.

Does your team have a habit of avoiding anything?

    Poster doesn't have a team.

Poster has spent 15 hours a day for 20 years talking to himself on an internet forum.

    Opinion = invalid.

Is Haletta having a psychotic break or did she just up the pain meds?

    Man United Fun Facts #2,634

Docherty's team averaged fewer goals conceded per game than the current strugglers.

Manchester United in talks to complete Patrick Dorgu transfer - Manchester Evening News

Malacia apparently heading out on loan and Antony to Real Betis.

    Brainwashed, Lu?

    It's a rite of passage.

My dad is United and I was born in Manchester - so I'm United as our family will always be United.

    I didn't choose.

Same for harry and cy I would imagine.

Your football team is your heart, but I'm not actually that bothered where you come from as long as you show passion and love for your club.

Feel free to choose yours though.
