Not easy trying to fight your social stereotype. I have to say it can't be easy though with cameras on you the whole time.

England right-back Kieran Trippier has joined Atletico Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur, the Spanish club said on Wednesday.

Atletico said on their website they had signed a "fantastic and experienced player from the Champions League runner up" and added Trippier had agreed a three-year deal.

Spanish and British media said Atletico were paying Spurs a fee of 22 million euros ($24.7 million).

Probably the only time that will happen this season.

    How much is Maguire again?

(ANSA) - Turin, July 17 - Dutch centre back and former Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt on Wednesday joined Juventus.

Super agent Mimmo Raiola called his 19-year-old client, who impressed in the Amsterdam club's run to the Champions League semi-finals, a mixture of Pavel Nedved and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Eight-time straight and reigning Italian champs Juve won the race for his services ahead of Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United.

De Ligt could cost the Bianconeri as much as 70 million euros if all add-ons and bonus requirements are met, which is enough to make him one of the most expensive defenders in the history of football.

Yeah, but he's not a teenager. He's approaching his peak as a proven world-cup semi-finalist.

Fuck that, I'd take the cloggy at 70m euros over that carthorse at 95m any day of the week.

New law: Players must leave the pitch by the nearest point on the touchline unless the referee allows them to leave on the half-way line for safety or injury reasons.

Why? The IFAB have said they are trying to crack down on time-wasting by shortening the distance it takes for a player to leave the pitch.
This one is probably the dumbest of the fucking lot.

Just stop the clock from the time a substitution is called to the time the ref is ready to restart play.

If there is no advantage to be gained by shuffling off slower than a fucking snail, players won't bother doing it.

It's done to break up the play. As the rule was previously, the time was already made up before the final whistle.

But it still hampered sides looking for a point or three if the play was stop-start, hence the rule change.

Happy to help with anything else you don't understand about the beautiful game.

It's done because they know refs add on arbitrary and usually small amounts of injury time that rarely match the game time lost. Don't you know anything?

    ^^

So, you don’t think a main aim of late in the game substitutions is to break up the game?

You must get your footie knowledge from The Hindustan Times.

..... and another post with no relevant content. Must be hard having sit through another wasted season in the championship, watching "the beautiful game" from an armchair in a foreign country. What a useless spacker.
