For sure and deservedly so too, they've been the best 2 teams this year by far. I can't see Storm letting the Roosters get them in the GF again this year, one thing Storm do well is learn from their mistakes and come back far stronger (as Manly will attest, having beaten them in Melbourne - by 1 point - about 5 weeks back then having their arses belted by 30 points by the same Storm team at Lottoland last week). Both teams are great to watch as a neutral.

Roosters fan. If Cameron doesn't get away with 10 forward passes and reffing the game Roosters win.

Thinking Canberra next year. A few too many errors in their game but next year with more experience they are the ones.

Some great match-ups and vital matches this week-end ...

South Sydney Rabbitohs ($2.35) v Sydney Roosters ($1.59)

Roosters to deal Souths top four blow

    ---

Parramatta Eels ($1.60) v Manly Sea Eagles ($2.33)

    Eels to win try fest

Tom Trbojevic. Scans have revealed Tom suffered a torn pec in the loss to the Melbourne Storm.
Apparently Manly are delaying surgery till the off-season with the hope he can play after therapy.
He's had an awesome season and even though he's a NSWelshman, he's one of the top players I like watching.

    ---

    Canterbury Bulldogs ($2.30) v Brisbane Broncos ($1.60)

    Dogs to jag upset win

One of my sons has picked the Bulldogs as 'his' Team so there will be debate in the D48 household.
    I'm not confident of a Bronco's win.

    ---

Gold Coast Titans ($2.25) v St George Illawarra Dragons ($1.62)

Saints to win bottom of the table clash

The other son's team is StGeorge and he's yet to see them win ... should be a good chance this week-end.

    ---

    Wests Tigers ($2.07) v Cronulla Sharks ($1.75)

    Tigers to take finals spot

Vital game to potentially decide 8th spot and a game in the finals

    ---

    Other games are ...

Melbourne Storm ($1.16) v North Queensland Cowboys ($5.25)

Canberra Raiders ($1.26) v New Zealand Warriors ($3.85)

    Penrith Panthers ($1.70) v Newcastle Knights ($2.15)

    ---

For the betting man, I agree with their tip ...

Roosters -4, Dragons -2.5, Tigers = $7.47 (not sure about the Tigers though)
Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago ...

Well Roosters got done. The local under 6 team could whip the Titans. Go the Tigers !!

Great game tonight with the Raiders qualifying for the Grand Final.

I'm in Sydney at the moment, so meeting some friends tomorrow for lunch at Manly, followed by a few hours at the pub before making our way to the SCG to hopefully watch the Roosters demolish the Storm to score the other spot in the GF.

Agreed, last night, one of the best games of the year ... would have been happy if that was the GF.

TizMe enjoy the game tonight, I've never been to a game in Sydney and would dearly love, one day, to get to a Sydney suburban ground, with a Hill and enjoy the local festivities.

Should be a close one tonight, with Waerea-Hargreaves out, all it will take is an injury to Cleary and Mitchell to have a shy shocker like he did in SofO II and it might turn the Table.

Me? I like both Teams, so just happy to watch a spectacle equal to watch we watched last night.

2 of us then, they've been the best 2 year all year by far. It's a shame they can't both make the GF because tonight's game is the match-up everyone wants to see. You would have to think that whoever wins will also be the 2019 Premiers.

I'm backing Storm at the line (+4.5) but not heavily.

Nelson Asofa-Solomona... he looks big on TV. He's hughmungous in real life.

It was a good game, but SCG is shit. We were sitting almost in-line with half way, the side-line has 20 metres of grass between it and the crowd.

I went to Allianz last year and sat almost on the try line, a great atmosphere and saw 3 or 4 tries scored just a few metres away.

NRL (Mens) GF in a few hours.

Woman's GF is a one sided affair.

24 - 0 to the Broncos, last years GF winners.

    ... a omen for today's game?

    ---

HW ... what's your take on the game?

David48@TD I've backed the Roosters -11.5. The line is about 7.5 but I think the Chooks will run away with it in the 2nd half and have gone for a bet that reflects that. Not betting heavily, 2 figures only just for a bit of fun.

^Ironic isn't it, he's the Captain and he's completely out of his depth in a team like the Roosters.

    The Roosters win it 14-8!

They are out on their feet and can barely celebrate, but they have won back-to-back premierships!

It was a crazy game, one of the great grand finals, but much of the talk after this match will be about that controversial refereeing call with 10 minutes to go.
To recap, the referee signalled "six to go" on the fifth tackle as Canberra attacked the Roosters line, only to decide once a tackle had been completed that it was a turnover.

The Roosters promptly scored a brilliant long-range try down the other end to win the match.

The Roosters dominated early to take an 8-0 lead, but late in the first half the Raiders took control and it looked a matter of time before they took the lead.
But they were never actually able to edge in front - the best they could do was draw level at 8-all, despite Cooper Cronk spending 10 minutes in the sin bin.
And the Roosters defended admirably, rode their luck, and turned on the class at the end to seal the win.
I didn't see the controversial refereeing call I was making a vodka and coke , but it was a major turning point in the game.

My modest dollars were on the Roosters to win, but Canberra had the better part maybe 55%, maybe 60% of the game.

The 10 mins in the naughty corner for Cronk was a bit stiff.

The TV commentators were blowing up about it.

    Technically correct though.

I'm surprised more isn't being made of the interference by the Roosters trainer early in the first half.

The Roosters half Luke Keary was putting in an attacking kick when it was charged down by Sia Soliola.

The ball hit Soliola’s head and incredibly ricocheted into the Roosters’ trainer’s head 10 metres away.

If the ball hadn’t hit the trainer, Raiders second-rower Elliot Whitehead was the clear favourite to chase the ball down and potentially score a runaway try as he was the only one to react.
