^That would be the best 2nd half of Rugby League anyone could ever hope to see. I really thought the Storm were going to run over the top of them but once the scores levelled up the Chooks dug deep. I lost money on the game but am not pissed off at all, Storm gave it everything and the Chooks were good enough to get the 2 points. Well played both teams.

^ ^^ Yep, best game of the round and apparently they do it again later this year in Adelaide.

I thought Cameron Smith was man of the match in the losing side.

My partner even pulled up a chair and watched the last 15 mins and then the extra time.

Ripper of a match, lived up the expectations.

Dragons v Sea Eagles was a good game.

Another game that went right down to the wire, with the dragons winning 12 - 10

DCE upset that the Eagles should have been given a penalty in the dying seconds that could have enabled them to push it into golden point.
(as much as I don't like Manly, he probably had every right to be pissed off)

Its a shame that bad refereeing is deciding a game's outcome.

    ^ Missed that game.

    It's Easter, pissing down everyday.

Took the Boys Ten Pin Bowling for their first time.

    Priceless smiles.

Back to the Footy ... Raiders vs Broncos in the Nationals Capital.

Should be about 22C and no rain, so weather won't be a factor.

Who's going to win that game?

Relatively quiet build-up to SOO in the NZ press this year, probably because of the cricket WC going on now.

I'd completely blanked on it even being on until I saw this thread.

Red sent, we'll actually it looks a bit maroon .

I've got massive doubts over any team with Ben fucking Hunt in it, he's nowhere near good enough to play at this level - not even close - and that sums up QLD's playmaker options without Cronk/Smith/JT . I don't rate Morgan either so that leaves a lot on the shoulders of Munster and hopefully Ponga will get involved once Hunt fucks up in the first 3 minutes then goes into hiding on a wing for the rest of the game, as he's prone to do. QLD's only chance is to get off to a flyer and score a few tries in the opening 20 minutes.

The Manly halfback had surgery on his ankle just four weeks ago, and will have 10 days in Maroons camp to prove he's fully fit for next Wednesday's series opener at Lang Park.

West Tigers fullback Moses Mbye and Broncos duo David Fifita and Joe Ofahengaue will debut for Queensland.

New squad to bunker in CBD

With a new-look squad missing all the players who created the winning Maroons dynasty, Queensland coach Kevin Walters said he was focused on ushering in a new era.

The team will now be based in the heart of Brisbane instead of their Gold Coast hideaway at Sanctuary Cove, under the guidance of an all-new coaching staff.

Former Broncos centre Justin Hodges is now assistant coach, while Origin greats Johnathan Thurston and Billy Slater will both be involved in a coaching and mentoring capacity.

Would have loved to see Jason Taumalolo play for the Maroons, but the NRL blocked that back in February.

NSW Fans ... look away now.

    FULL TIME: Queensland wins!!!

It's a 18-14 victory for the Maroons after a great game of State of Origin.

Well that game had everything. NSW led 8-0 and Queensland struggled to convert in the first half, having two tries disallowed.

But the second half was all Queensland. Two tries in as many minutes by Gagai gave Queensland the lead but Jake Trbojevic scored under the sticks late for a tantalising finish.

Ponga was the difference, a bit quiet in the 1st half but got stuck in big time in the 2nd half once it became clear someone had to put their hand up. NSW will be way better in game 2, not sure how much better QLD can be away from home. Opening market for game 2 in Perth has QLD at 2.20 outsiders and if there's one thing they don't want is to go to Sydney for game 3 with the series locked up at 1-1.

I think the Blues did a pretty good job up the middle with Klemmer, Cook and Tedesco.

Latrell Mitchell didn't have anywhere near the game that he should have.

I think Cleary was a wrong selection, Mitchell Pearce or Adam Reynolds would have been a better choice.

Munster, Gagai and Ponga all had great games. The cain toads deserved their win.

So this morning this guy went to see his doctor.

He said "Doc, I got a problem. Every time I masturbate, I lose control and start yelling "Queensland! Queensland! Queensland!"".

Doctor replies, "Thats nothing to worry about. All wankers do that".

NSW makes seven changes for State of Origin Game II against Queensland

    Rugby League 2019-9902326-3x2-700x467-jpg

Brad Fittler has rolled the dice, making seven changes to the New South Wales line-up ahead of a must-win game two of State of Origin in Perth on Sunday.

The Blues coach has opted for an all-Penrith halves combination, with James Maloney joining game one half-back Nathan Cleary.
There were suggestions selectors were looking to pick Mitchell Pearce with Cleary, but the Knights' star was ruled out on Sunday morning with a hip injury after playing the full 80 minutes in Newcastle's thumping 34-4 loss to the Storm in Melbourne on Saturday afternoon.

Game one debutant Payne Haas was also ruled out of the side for Perth after picking up a hamstring injury in the Broncos' big loss to the Eels.
The Blues also had to bring in a replacement for winger Nick Cotric, who hobbled off late on in Canberra's win over Cronulla with an ankle injury.

Daniel Saifiti (Newcastle Knights) and Dale Finucane (Melbourne Storm) will make their debuts, while Maloney, Tom Trbojevic, Tariq Sims, Blake Ferguson and Wade Graham have all been recalled.

Jack Wighton from the Canberra Raiders, who was on the interchange bench for game one, moves into the starting side at centre.

^Hard to believe NSW have hit the panic button to this extent, it's not like they got blown off the park in game 1 and were forced into making wholesale changes. Cannot believe they've dropped Morris, or Mitchel who played a blinder last weekend for the Chooks and would have been short-priced to bounce back for a MOTM performance in game 2 if selected. I'm glad he's not going to be there. Freddie's fan club numbers among the NSW faithfull has just taken a major hit, and it'll be reduced to friends and family if QLD win in Perth.

1.90 vs 1.90 but you'd have to think QLD will win this for no other reason than being an unchanged team (with the exception of 2 injury replacements) who will be even more comfortable playing together as a team now. A big call maybe, but I see a chance of Freddy getting the chop if NSW lose this series and definitely getting the chop if they lose in Perth and he fucks around with major changes for game 3 and they lose in Sydney too.

    Sadly, I have to agree.

Dropping Morris & Latrell I believe is the craziest decision ever.

James Maloney is a wild card. He is equal odds to play a blinder to win the game for them, or throw the pass that gets intercepted to score the winning try for Qld!

^NZ v Tonga Test tomorrow at 12:40 our time. NZ are favourites but it should be a good game, they're playing at Mt Smart and it's sold out.
