Vettel hit the barrier on his lap. Dick.
Leclerc is entitled to be feeling well upset ..
Good job Hamilton.
Monaco, always the track you have to master playing any F1 sim! But not usually the best race unfortunately.. what ideas do people have to change it around?
Well Pepe LePew just fucked his race by driving like a dick.
Shredded a tyre, safety car out and maybe just before rain comes.
Mad Max pulls out of the pits into Bottas... a penalty I fancy.
Well we just got a feel of how the idea to start the leaders at the rear would look like!
Why the hell is Lewis the only guy on Mediums?!
1. Hammy
2. Vettel
3. Bottas
4. Mad Max (+5)
5. Gasly
6. Sainz
That stupid cloggy wanker fucked up Bottas' race.
Pierre Gasly got the bumper bonus point for fastest lap.
67 laps on a set of Mediums. Fucking class Lewis, fucking class.
Fucking state of those fronts.
:)
I was of the opinion that Monaco was just a money spinner and a bit of a celeb hang out.
Thinking about it, just leave it as it is.
Put your car on pole and hope that, your team has strategyfor at least one safety car, rain and rookies.
Rookies did ok this year.
Merc had a strategy based on more than one safety car, and or rain. On the rare occasion they get it wrong, some superb driving gets them out of the hole.
You are right! Christ that was a dull "race" part of the history of the sport and a procession for the rich and famous though, so guess it will be staying!
Cloggy much improved this season, have to give him that :( future champ for sure, hard to blame him for the incident, but will hold him at least partially responsible as he is a cloggy!
Monaco and the Indy 500 on same day. Tradition and as said not going anywhere soon.
Unfortunately I was on a plane so missed the race, but I see Hammy put so much pressure of Vettel that he ran off and then tried to ram his way back onto track, thus incurring a five second penalty which cost him the win.
So
1. Hammy
2. Vettel
3. Pepe LePew
4. Bottas
Still, it's nice to see the Ferraris getting a bit of pace, even if they don't have the best drivers.
At first look the penalty seemed harsh, but looking at it from various angles it's standard Vettel behaviour - make a mistake then try to ram another car off the road to stop them getting past. He was in control and he knew what he was doing, Hamilton had to brake heavily to avoid an accident; Hamilton would have got past if Vettel had taken a safe line - basically, Vettel lied saying he wasn't in control of the car - he was and he dangerously blocked Hamilton to stop him getting past. Vettel is such a moaning child that refuses to take responsibility for his actions; this really undermines his legacy, imho.
Having seen it, I don't think it was deliberate, he fishtailed twice, but I think the stewards logic was that he lost control of the car and in the process stopped Hamilton getting past him, and ultimately it was his fault.
I don't think he meant to do it, and tbh I don't think he deserved the penalty. It leaves a sour taste in the mouth.
Not a lot he could do to be honest. Shouldn't have got a 5s penalty imo. It may get overturned, which would be good for the sport.
Vettel needs to get out of that prima Donna dress though. No need to go off in a sulk as it will ruin his case. Far better to take it in his stride and get the spectators and media on his side.
Hamilton probably feels bad winning like that.
The penalty should be overturned but doubt it will. Clearly a wrong ruling.
Could have done without Vettlel's mini tantrum but unerstandable in the heat of the moment.
Ferrari aren't really helping when they spoke of their appeal thus, implying his actions were deliberate:
While Vettel said:Quote:
"No intention in what he did, he was still ahead and he tried to keep his position and simple as that. We disagree with the decision but we all may have our own opinion."
Meanwhile Lewis says he would have done the same thing, implying that he believes it was deliberate.Quote:
"I was trying to survive, to keep the car on track. I came from the grass, the tyres were dirty and I was fighting to get back on line and get control back of the car."
I agree 100%. Vettel acted like a child. He should have rolled up. took his place at the podium based on what transpired and then pleaded his case afterwards. There is no way Hamilton wants a win like that. I hated when I was racing and the guy next to me did his burn out and then couldn't get his car in reverse and I had to make a bye run while the guy just sat there. You never want to win like that. I saw Hamilton's race speech and he really was lost for words.
My take on the Vettel bobble and return to the track and race line was the stewards made the right call by the book, but that said FFS let them race, It was exciting and honestly one of the more entertaining races I have seen in awhile. F1, while I enjoy it, can get a bit boring after the initial crazy starts. There haven't been any really good dicing and cutting it up for a win in a lonnnng time.
