    Classic European Cup Finals

Obviously, there aren't many of you on here who can post up a classic final of their team winning "old big ears," so let's keep it neutral.

Milan v Barca in 94. What a team that Milan side were when Italy still ruled the roost.

I actually saw Dejan Savicevic at OT in the Super Cup when we'd won the ECWC in 91 and Red Star Belgrade had won the European Cup. United actually won 1-0 but what a hiding we took that night and what a player that fella was.

Man Utd 4 Benfica 1 (aet)
1968 at Wembley, the year after Celtic became the first British side to win it.
John Aston was credited with man of the match, but a dream goal by George Best will live long in the memory.

My dad was there. He went down on the Milk Train from Manchester and we've still got the programme at home today.

It would be great if anyone on here was at this one (or knew anyone who was) with the Lisbon Lions:

A trip down memory lane, why not...

Manchester City are one of twelve English football clubs to have won a European title, in City's case the 1969–70 Cup Winners Cup. The club's first entry into European competition occurred in 1968, as a result of winning the 1967–68 Football League Championship.

The future is where it's at

Just a point here about MCFC's one and only success in a UEFA final against Gornik Zabrze (the ECWC final of 1970).

It was the smallest ever attendance in a UEFA final ever:

Let's not mention the real kings of Europe then and Manure Utds besties ... Liverpool

Like i said it's all history, soon to be ancient history!

There's only one team breaking records and making history at the moment or for the foreseeable

    Yeah, it could.

That was the idea, which is why I said to try to be neutral; it's the Eurpean Champions thread.

Ajax would be a team to start with.

    Notts Forest/Villa.

Some of the old Eastern Bloc teams.

The Madrid teams that won so many and the Barca teams that won nothing until the 90s.

Ignore Hal, that's why he shops in Iceland.
    Frozen pizzas
Liverpool wipe the floor with all other teams when it comes to the history of European football.

History is history ! I prefer to look forward to the future...

I was at the Forest Malmo game in Munich 1979. Sat next to 1976 World F1 champion James Hunt, the scruffy nonchalant Fokker.

    Just me and 68000 others.

Nothing wrong with that philosophy except, you do need to heed the lessons from history, and really you can’t live the future because it’s an unknown.

Live for today, but don’t forget the past.

Erm... Real Madrid, AC Milan, Barcelona, Bayern Munich?

Have you always worked Tuesday and Wednesday nights?

Brilliant. The start of a few years when Forest rightly dominated and why Clough is a hero.

More stories please of your trips across Europe (just ignore Chitty; the rest of us do).

I have the same following United between 1992 and 2005 across Europe (I very rarely missed a game), so I'm sure you have the same.

Im a lifelong Sheffield United supporter so I don’t really have any Euro history.
Got the Forest tickets courtesy of the army FA.

Nice day out with the lads, even though we missed the last train home. Slept on Munich station and the station cafe owner gave us free bockwurst and potato salad when he closed at midnight.

I spent 20 years following Utd around Europe, staying on various stations and in office buildings, with all the scallies and chancers of Manchester. I won't go into any great detail on here, but they coincided with the greatest days of my life and I know what it means when the owner gives you a freebie and an office floor to rest your head.

I 'm pretty sure we have mutual friends, but it's not for here.

^ More memorable for me was Lothar Matthaus being taken off with minutes left and giving two thumbs up to the cameras.

I got two tickets for the Milan Juventus final in 2003. Sounded so dire I gave them to a mate.

It was so fucking dire they left at half time and watched the second half in the pub.

His last game and never got to win it.

Probably as amazing as Buffon, Zlatan, et all.

Especially when you think that ol' Jimmy Traore did.

Won with every player being born within 11 miles of the city.

    How things change.

If city win it, it will be the opposite, for the players and fans alike.

Liverpool beating Milan back in 2005 at Istanbul has to be the most memorable from an unbiased opinion.

Or I could mention my club 20 times in the thread and claim im impartial
