Usain Bolt ... what happened to him?

He's been reborn in Australia trying to garner a Soccer contract ...

Usain Bolt scores his first two goals for Central Coast Mariners as he presses case for A-League career

Olympic track great Usain Bolt's fledgling football career has received a boost, scoring two second-half goals for Central Coast after struggling early in an A-League pre-season game in southwestern Sydney.

Playing in a central striking role against A-League aspirants Macarthur South West United, Bolt battled in the first half, but flourished after the break before being substituted by the Mariners at the 75-minute mark.

Bolt showed good strength to hold off a defender and race onto a Ross McCormack through-ball before beating the goalkeeper at the near post with a fierce left-foot shot in the 55th minute.

He promptly produced his famous lightning bolt celebration.

Just over 10 minutes later, he doubled his tally when he capitalised on a defensive mix-up to pounce on a loose ball and tap in from a few metres out.

Man City should buy him to replace Sterling. In fact England should try and get him to replace Sterling too.

He should try signing on for the West Tigers NRL.
He'd probably have to toughen up a bit, but could be a good winger.

Agreed, but I'd prefer he went up the road to the Newcastle Knights. Over the years I think that there have been at least two Olympic class athletes give league a go without embarrassing themselves. Not sure that was the case with gridiron guy (Manfred Man?) at Newtown many many years ago.

My wife, when watching Sterling play, asked "is he gay?"

I guess they are more specialist now, I can think of Mike Cleary, represented Australia as a kangaroo, a wallaby and also a sprinter in the commonwealth games.

Usain Bolt leaves Central Coast Mariners after trial

Olympic gold medal sprinter Usain Bolt has left the Central Coast Mariners after a trial at the A-League club.

    Key points:

    • Just under 10,000 people watched Bolt play for the Mariners in an August practice match
    • However, the world champion sprinter never took the field in an A-League game
    • Bolt and the club struggled to find a commercial deal to extend his stay in Australia

Bolt's representative and the Mariners have advised his indefinite training period has ended, effective immediately.

Bolt's camp had reportedly asked for a deal of around $3 million, but the Mariners' offer was reportedly in the vicinity of $150,000.

Bolt "had the first touch of a trampoline", according to a lot of pundits who went along to see him.

This is from a bloke who described Peter Crouch as "like watching a horse fall down stairs". lol
