Not only are Manchester City the best Premier League team of 2017/18 they have blazed a trail to set marks unmatched in the 26 seasons of the competition.
Here we look at the Premier League records they have broken or matched on their way to the title.
Earliest title win
City's claiming of the title with five matches to go equals the record that was set by Manchester United in 2000/01.
Biggest winning margin
City finished 19 points clear of Man Utd, whose record they have broken. United ended 18 points clear at the top in 1999/00.
Most consecutive PL victories
The 18-match winning run that City enjoyed between victory at AFC Bournemouth on 26 August and the 1-0 win at Newcastle United on 27 December broke two records: the record of 13 consecutive wins in the same campaign, held jointly by Arsenal (2001/02) and Chelsea (2016/17); and Arsenal's overall record of 14 consecutive league victories, achieved between February and August 2002.
Most consecutive away wins
The victory at Newcastle was also City's 11th away win in a row, a sequence that started on 21 May last season. That matched the record set by Chelsea between 6 April 2008 and 7 December 2008.
Biggest share of away possession
City had 82.13 per cent of possession at Everton on 31 March, the highest by an away team in a PL match since these records began.
Most opponents beaten
City have beaten all the other 19 PL teams this season, becoming only the third side to do so after Man Utd, in 2010/11, and Chelsea, in 2005/06.
Fewest minutes trailed
City were behind in matches for a total of only 153 minutes, the fewest by a side in a single campaign.
Most successive Manager of the Month awards
Guardiola was named Barclays Manager of the Month four times in a row between September and December, a first.
Quickest to a century
With their four goals against West Ham United, City recorded 102 goals in 35 matches, the quickest a Premier League side has reached a century of goals in a single campaign. It is the fourth time 100 goals has been scored in a PL season, following Chelsea in 2009/10 and Man City and Liverpool in 2013/14.
Most points
City are the only team in English top-flight history to reach 100 points in a single season. They reached that century with a stoppage-time winner at Southampton, which came after they beat Brighton & Hove Albion in their previous match to break Chelsea's record of 95 points set from 2004/05.
Most away points
With the final-day win over Southampton, City also surpassed Chelsea's 48 away points picked up in 2004/05. Pep Guardiola's side finished on 50 points on their travels.
Most total wins
That victory over Saints was City's 32nd of the campaign, moving them further ahead of the mark of 30 recorded by Chelsea last season. Man City are the first team to win 32 matches in a single English top-flight season.
Most away wins
Jose Mourinho's Chelsea of 2004/05 won 15 matches away from home, another feat that City surpassed on the final day with their 16th away victory.
Most goals
City scored 106 goals, beating that of Chelsea's 103 scored in the 2009/10 campaign.
Best goal difference
City's goal difference of +79 is eight better than the previous best set by the Chelsea team of 2009/10 who finished with +71.
The records keep breaking....
Monday's media round-up kicks-off another busy week for Manchester City with a claim from Bernardo Silva that the Blues have the potential to eclipse last season’s historic achievements and re-write the record books once more.
There’s also further evidence of Leroy Sane’s key impact on Pep Guardiola’s side and reflections on what was a crucial win for City’s women in their their top-of-the-table showdown with Arsenal.
But we start with Bernardo who made an impressive return to action after a brief injury lay-off against the Cherries, scoring City’s opening goal in Saturday's 3-1 win.
It was the Blues’ sixth straight Premier League victory and maintained our two-point advantage at the top over Liverpool ahead of Tuesday night's league trip to Watford.
However, the Portuguese midfield marvel told BT Sport that he also feels the team as a whole are still improving and possess the potential to better last season’s historic achievements which saw us win the Premier League with 100 points, 32 wins and 106 goals – all domestic records.
BT Sport reported: "Looking ahead, Silva said: “It’s almost the same squad with some improvements, like Riyad (Mahrez), and more time together.

“So, yes, we might be a bit better. We want to break the records of last season, but it’s not easy.
“Each one of us knows the other better so it’s easy.
“This squad has the quality to change a few players and still not notice much difference. We have a lot of quality players.
“It’s a little bit of pressure for our rivals – they have to win to stay close to us but it’s only the start of December so too early to talk about pressure."
"Bernardo was also effusive in his praise for Raheem Sterlingwho struck again against Eddie Howe's side for his ninth goal of the season.

"The Portugal international said: “I hope he can get more than he got last season. He has been in fantastic form.
“He is so aggressive with the ball and so focused on the goal. If he continues like this he will help us win some titles.”
Another man to impress at the weekend was Leroy Sane who proved a thorn in the Cherries side all afternoon.
And the Manchester Evening News carries evidence of Sane’ remarkable impact over the past 18 months – not least in the number of assists chalked up by the 23-year-old.
Joe Bray reports: “To highlight just how ruthless City have been over the past two seasons, the list of assists provided since August 2017 is dominated by City players.
“Leroy Sane put in a man-of-the-match display against Bournemouth on Saturday, and took his tally of assists up to 20 since the beginning of last season - more than any other player in the Premier League.

“Closely behind him is Raheem Sterling (17) and Kevin De Bruyne (16), while David Silva has 13.
“Only Tottenham's Christian Eriksen stands in the way of a clean sweep for City with his 14 assists.
“Discussing the incredible statistic on Match of the Day, pundit Danny Murphy hailed Sane's performance against Bournemouth and the impact of Guardiola's philosophy.
“Murphy said: "(Sane) was incredible to watch. Maybe he's had a point to prove after being left out of the World Cup squad.
"What I saw on Saturday was a player who was hungry, works hard as Pep (Guardiola) loves.
“He's absolutely devastating, with his pace, with his ability to run with the ball at pace, and of course what any good winger can do picking the right choices when you get in there - end product.

"Nobody's got more assists since the beginning of last season. That's exactly what Pep wants.
"Bournemouth were terrific for much of the game but they still couldn't cope with this. [Steve] Cook and [Simon] Francis couldn't cope with him, whether to drop off or go tight. Even when they did get in the right positions he was too good for them.”
It was also a memorable weekend for Manchester City’s women who recorded a superb 2-0 win over leaders Arsenal in a crucial FA Women’s Super League encounter.
And according to the Guardian, the result could prove pivotal come the end of the season.
Suzanne Wrack writes: “A Georgia Stanway double and a tactical masterclass from Nick Cushing, who said Manchester City now have a “fighter’s chance” at the title, led the home side to become the first team to take points off an injury-hit Arsenal and closed the gap at the top of the Women’s Super League to three points.

“In this isolated period nine points is very difficult, six would have still been a challenge, three and we’ve given ourselves a fighter’s chance,” the City manager said.
“But it doesn’t mean anything. I remember eating my Christmas dinner last year and we were top of the league unbeaten, won every game, Continental Cup final, FA Cup semi-final, Champions League quarter-final and by the end of the season we took nothing.”
“I can’t do much more than I’m doing and hopefully he sees that,” said Stanway of national manager Phil Neville, when asked about her England World Cup chances after her two goals in front of the national manager.
“But at the end of the day I’m still young (19), I have loads of time and there’s massive competition. It would be a dream come true to go but I’m at the start of my journey.”
Come on everyone, sing a long...

Manchester Citycould face a ban from next season’s Champions League over allegeddeceptions of Uefa’s financial rules revealed in the Football Leaksscandal. European football’s governing body believes a potentialtransfer embargo is not a sufficient punishment for the PremierLeague champions if an independent inquiry into Financial Fair Playrules against the club in the coming days.
Senior Uefaofficials – who previously launched sanctions against City in 2014– are particularly enraged by leaked files from 2015, which claimalmost £60 million was paid directly into the club by theirbillionaire Arab owners but declared as sponsorship.
Speaking hereyesterday, Aleksander Ceferin, the Uefa president, appeared toindicate the allegations of FFP breaches were a “concrete case”.The documents, allegedly obtained by illegal email hacks, are said toshow £59.5 million that was supposed to have come from City’sprincipal sponsor Etihad Airways – which sponsors the club’sstadium, shirts and training ground – was paid directly to the clubby the Abu Dhabi United Group. To put that into context, City’srecord signing is Riyad Mahrez, who cost £60 million fromLeicester City last season.
Ceferin, speakingafter a meeting of Uefa executives, said: “We are assessing thesituation. We have an independent body working on it. Very soon wewill have the answers on what will happen in this concrete case.”
according to areport in German magazine Der Spiegel last month, City breached FFPrules by €188 million (£167 million) in 2014.
City owner SheikhMansour was accused of funding significant parts of so-called dealswith club sponsors in an attempt to escape Uefa sanctions. DerSpiegel also alleged that City set up a secret scheme called “ProjectLongbow”, which effectively hid about £40 million in payments toplayers, after the club had agreed a €20 million fine as asettlement for FFP breaches.
However, City haveclaimed “the attempt to damage the club’s reputation is organisedand clear” and said they “will not be providing any comment onout-of-context materials purportedly hacked or stolen from CityFootball Group and Man City personnel and associated people”.
Uefa issued astatement last week confirming that previous cases could be reopenedif new information came to light, and that previously undisclosedinformation could also be used. It said: “Uefa conducts an annualassessment of all clubs against the break-even requirements of FFP ona rolling three-year basis. If new information comes to light, thatmay be material to this assessment, Uefa will use that to challengethe figures.
“Should newinformation suggest that previously concluded cases have been abused, those cases may be capable of being reopened.”
Among otherpotential breaches of Uefa rules, Der Spiegel published emails from2010, reportedly from board member Simon Pearce communicating withcolleagues, in which he discusses a £15 million deal with partnerAabar.
“As we discussed, the annual direct obligation for Aabar is £3 million,” heallegedly wrote. “The remaining £12 million will come fromalternative sources provided by His Highness [City owner, SheikhMansour].”
In another message,City’s chief financial officer, Jorge Chumillas, allegedly wrotethat the club faced a £9.9 million shortfall to comply with FFPthanks to the contract termination of manager Roberto Mancini. TheItalian was sacked in 2013, a year to the day after winning thePremier League title. His giant pay-off meant yet more expenditure onCity’s books that had to be covered by income under Uefa rules.
City were alsoaccused of manipulating other sponsorship deals by backdating them.Der Spiegel reported that City and Paris St-Germain breached FFPrules by €188 million and €215 million (£192 million)respectively in 2014.
Javier Tebas, chiefexecutive of Spanish football’s top division and a long-standingcritic of City, has previously expressed doubts over whether City orFrench club Paris St-Germain would face sanctions because of atangled web of financial relationships between the clubs and Uefa.
Tebas has expressedfears that the governing body’s links with broadcaster beIN Sport, which has committed billions of pounds to televise Champions Leaguematches and other competitions, present an obstacle to Uefa acting.BeIN is owned by the sovereign wealth fund of the Qatari royalfamily, which also own PSG. City are owned by the ruling family ofAbu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
Mourinho not so confident
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho says his target of the club being in the Premier League top four by the end of December has "changed".
Mourinho had come up with the aim before United's 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace on 24 November.
After Saturday's 2-2 draw at Southampton, they are seventh and eight points off a Champions League place.
United, whose last league win was on 3 November, host fourth-placed Arsenal on Wednesday.
Analysis: Is Mourinho getting a fair deal?
After the Saints result, Mourinho had told Brazilian television network RedeTV that United needed a "miracle" to finish in the top four.
But on Tuesday he sought to clarify his comments.
"If I used that word, it is not what I think at all," the Portuguese said. "I don't think we need a miracle. We don't need to waste points where we don't need to waste.
"Before Palace, I said my target would be end of December in top four. Now the target has changed. Now we have to try to be very close to these positions. We need not to be so unlucky with problems that we have. We need some players to perform."
Asked if their current league position was not good enough, Mourinho compared United's position to sixth-placed Everton.
"I can agree even though the investment Everton made was phenomenal," he said. "I don't think Everton will be in front of United by the end of the season."
'I don't speak about that' - Mourinho on Pogba 'virus' comment
There were reports that Mourinho criticised midfielder Paul Pogba after Saturday's draw, calling him a "virus".
The pair's relationship has been under intense scrutiny this season and Pogba was stripped of the captaincy in September.
Asked if he call Pogba a "virus", Mourinho said: "I don't play the game of suggestions.
"One thing is to speak about an interview to Brazilian TV, which you can see. It is another where I am quoted by someone else. I don't speak about that. You saw me in the press conference. It is another thing that someone told what I told. I don't respond to that."
'I think Mourinho wants the sack'
Former England striker Chris Sutton says Mourinho is acting like he wants to be sacked.
"Mourinho does more point-scoring off the pitch than his team does on it," Sutton said on BBC Radio 5 live.
"It's not a happy camp, this started in pre-season. They finished second last season, look where they are now. What's going to happen in January? Can he be trusted with a pot of money in January? This is a United team that is falling at an alarming rate.
"I think he wants the sack, why would you behave in that manner?
"His signings have been a disaster and he wants more money. How can they trust him with the performances the way they have been? What is good about United this season? And it all comes from the manager, who is blaming everyone else."
They'll be lucky to make the Europa, meanwhile the champions and the only team to come from Manchester go 5 points clear:bananaman:with the biggest goal difference in history.
Well Chitty, its still early in the season. You know when go cheap early you just look silly when it doesn't come off with the fat birds, well there's danger in you talking this up :)
I'm going for wins for Chelski, Scouse and Arse; pissed off with Citeh had Ag and Sterling as my Capt & Vice in the fartasy - i'm going to de-citehify me team
In two hours time Arsenal will inflict a massive humiliation on Utd.
Mouriniho sadly will be gone in the morning.
Keep Ederson as your goalie, he's the only player guaranteedo to play every game.
I've got three Arsenal players in my team for tonight's bloodbath goal frenzy.
The only thing in Utds favour is the flooding and rain, it's not stopped pissing down heavily for 24 hours now.
Arsenal will look to go into the tunnel at 1/2 time 2 down, Uni will have the Arse staff pour concrete into the water bottles and do a switch with United's toward full time at which point it will be 6-2 to Arse and Moanihoe will break 4 toes kicking the concrete bottles and appear in the press conference in a full body cast as a distraction tactic.
Chant wars
Man Utd 0-0 Arsenal
Arsenal fans chant: "Jose Mourinho we want you to stay."
Manchester United fans respond with: "Oh Robin van Persie."
That qualifies as the dull goalless draw of chants.
But is 1-0 to Arse
Shkodran Mustafi
Goalkeeping howler! David de Gea has flapped at Shkodran Mustafi's header and his poppadom wrists have allowed Arsenal to take the lead. Corner from the left, Mustafi rises, De Gea makes a hash of turning it over. Jose Mourinho is ashed faced. You can hear the knives being sharpened.
Ooooops 1-1, that's better, now another 2 for Utd before 1/2 time and we'll be good
I've said it all along, if Wolves can play like they did tonight for every game, they are going places and I mean Europe!
Quality club and fans from the Midlands, 100% respect.
Five games unbeaten now for Jose Mourinho's red and white army. :)
And Chelsea, pretty much the first time they get into the City box, make it 1-0 right on half time!
