Not a bad game this for pre season. United have looked a touch ahead in terms of pre season prep so far (not sure City have played any games before this), but some encouraging signs nonetheless.

Both Lukaku's and Rashford's goals were excellent finishes.

Lukaku almost broke the post, would'a been a good second for him. And his third in these friendly games.

United are, err, World Champions of Something after beating Real Madrid in the worst penalty shoot out ever.

3 penalties scored out of 10 isn't bad for the two biggest clubs in the World.

Martial did a fantastic weave through the Real defence from the left to set up Lingard's goal.

He can go past players like they're not there when he fancies it.

Which is the problem with him. When he fancies it.

Yeah, he can develop into a truly World class player in the 2-3 seasons, if he dedicates himself to it.

The exciting thing about Man U now is the age of their talent. Martial, Lukaku, Rashford, Pogba, Bailly, Shaw (if he becomes less injury prone and more dedicated) Lindelof, all under the age of 25.

With Martial (21), Lukaku (24), and Rashford (19) United have a front line that should serve them well for many years to come. Not forgetting Lingard who's only 24.

Despite a handy knack for cup final goals and goals against the big teams, I think most people will always view him more as squad rather than a first name on the team sheet kinda player. Unless there's a major development in his next two seasons.
