49ers had been competitive all season. they lack talent, surely. but jimmy wasnt exactly putting up monster stats to carry the team to victory. the jax gm (the only playoff team beaten during the 5-0 run) was mostly won by the D. if you think jimmy is top 10 in the lg already you are insane. hes had zero pressure and there is almost no film on him. teams will find his weaknesses and exploit next season. games will matter. he'll settle back down to just above lg avg and then either adjust and rise or linger in mediocrity like palmer.

no, im not going to bet the cards finish bottom 5 next season lol. its not the most likely scenario. its far more likely they continue their run of mediocrity and finish 7-9. but its very possible. you dont seem to think it is...

unfortunately, this isnt a video gm so signing cousins or smith doesnt guarantee squat when you have no coaches (and no wrs). coaches control what happens on the field. you can have ungodly talent and completely waste it if theres no one with a brain on the sideline.

The team is a QB, WR2, and a few linemen away. Who says they don't pick up a good coach and a WR2? Its a very manageable offseason want list, and as luck would have it there are numerous QB stopgap options coming to market and some good prospects in the draft. Its a great year to be in the QB market

I watched the last quarter of the Saints V. Panthers game.

Glad NO won. Don't like Newton.

I don't care too much about the NFL now that Seattle is out, but I'd prefer anybody except the Pats to win it all.

I'm Surprised the Rams are out, in a way.

Only 11 wins in a banner year and a loss in round 1. Rams were pretenders/regular season wonders. They looked awful

I did not see the game. Tempted to watch a quarter or two.

So happy that the Rams lost.

^ Changes coming in Seattle for next year. Likely career ending injuries, age, and FAs.....

Been kicked in the nuts every year since.
Had high hopes with Wentz.
Not so high with Foles, but, we're still in there.
Good D might win a game.

teams can get to the conference championship game and superbowl with a great defense and a mediocre QB who is able to string together a few competent games in a row.

it's not hard to imagine philadelphia making it to the superbowl.

I don't know much about the Eagles but Foles threw for 240+ yards with 4 TDs.

Don't know if that will be repeated, but good luck to Philly in a couple days.

OC Bevell and O-line coach Cable fired.

QB coach will not return to same job.

The Eagles won and the Pats are moving the ball a lot against Tennessee. We know where this game is headed.

Watching the Patriots pummel Tennessee was like watching the Globetrotters beat the Senators. Kind of wish KC had won first round because they couldn't possibly have done worse than Tenn. Hate to see the Pats get a complete pass like that
