Not forgetting the very small help from his old team mate Massa! Not sure if Hamilton's engine was defective but they screwed up on the cooling airflow.

Nice to see a new face on the top step. Grats to Bottas.
Unfortunately another yawner.
First corner order; Bottas, Vettle, Raikkonen, Hamilton.
Finish; Bottas, Vettle, Raikkonen, Hamilton!

Yep. They keep saying they will change the cars to make passing more easy and every year it never happens.Originally Posted by Norton
The Russian track was simply too narrow. Those cars are over 2 meters wide now. But yes boring.Originally Posted by bsnub
I'm not sure passing has ever been a huge thing in F1. They all build their cars within say 1% of each other (in theory) so passing is inherently difficult. In order to pass your car has to be quite a bit quicker than the other guy. If not well...Originally Posted by bsnub
Grosjean tried a "pass"
As I have said before in the "old" days the leader would come into the pits for a cigarette and a sandwich and still win by minutes.
Nice to see Putin there. Neither Trump nor Teresa give away the trophy. Trudeau might but I don't know. I also liked Eddie Jordan's dig at Toto!
Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?
I apologize if any offence was caused. unless it was intended.
You people, you think I know feck nothing; I tell you: I know feck all
Those who cannot change their mind, cannot change anything.
You should watch some races from the late eighties. Battles between Prost, Senna and Mansell was some of the best racing I ever saw! Lots of passing in that era.Originally Posted by VocalNeal

Vettel: Massa did Bottas "a favour twice"
Was there twice in 2001 and 2002 working. Yes I was there for an American company just like Pebble beach.Originally Posted by harrybarracuda
Missed the race this week, but it flipped Mercedes way again:
2017 Spanish Grand Prix - Formula One World Championship
14 May - Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya - 66 laps - 191 miles
1 Lewis Hamilton - Mercedes
2 Sebastian Vettel - Ferrari
3 Daniel Ricciardo - Red Bull
On to Monaco on the 28th, where qualifying is almost as important as the race.
The Mercedes are having a torrid time at Monaco, the car seems to hate the track and they can't get near the Ferraris, and may even be battling the Red Bulls for a podium.
Mercedes has the longest wheelbase in F1. It does not like slow corners.
Kimi on poll. Great. Last poll 129 races ago. Ferrari 1, 2. Bottas 3rd. Hamilton 14th.
That too.
could be a good race watching Lewis slice his way through the field, may be to 4th or 5th?
Monaco was always a bitch for overtaking, but with even wider cars in F1 this year, it should make side by side running virtually impossible. Hamilton's best hope is for Vettel to stall on the grid, otherwise it's just a question of how many extra points he has to claw back over the coming season.
Heart of Gold and a Knob of butter.
Ferrari 1, 2 Riccardo 3.
Vettle wins. Now 25 point lead in championship. Kimi 2nd. Not looking happy at all. Poor call bringing him before Vettle. Lost him the race.
Another Moaco yawner. I didn't see one pass on track.
