XV Jocks would have made no difference today. AB's just too bloody good.

I don't want to see 15, 3 or 4 in the 23 man match day squad would suffice but seeing as only 4 in the squad and 2 of them Laidlaw and Dell shouldn't even be there not going to happen. In fact I can't see a single Jock making Gatlands 23 in either of the next 2 tests as Seymour hasn't done himself justice and Russel called up too late and doubt will even be given a start in the midweek game.

So just 3 or 4 then, but only those chosen by you, and they must be in the match day squad?

Not asking much at all are you?
With one possible exception, (AWJ) I think that side today represents the best players available. Scots or not, it would have made no difference.
One or 2 have been found out at this level. Simply not good enough. No Scottish player was any better than the 23 that wore the shirt today.
Your team has recently become more competitive under a highly effective foreign coach. Not one of them is ready to step up individually to the next (Lions) level. Far better players got left behind from the other 3 countries. A handful were picked to appease the Lions ethos. That's all.
Heart of Gold and a Knob of butter.

Lol, Johnny Gray and Hamish Watson should be in the team the 2 most glaring omissions in the forwards. And any number of Scotland backs could do as well if not better than the dross on show in this tour, Dunbar, Taylor to name 2. Anyway I'll just continue to enjoy Gatland being found out as the most over rated, one dimensional coach ever.

But then you might actually have to make a post that would be worth reading and I wouldn't want that so Russel he will remain.

Being that all you have done in this thread is whinge and whine clearly the bar of what you find worthy of reading isn't really that high.

And it's still "Russell", so much for your vaunted education eh.

Bristle all you like about those who didn't get selected because there were, in every case, at least two other players in every position that were better than those you just named.
The Lions touring side is about form and character. Nothing else, apart from the expectation that a few token Scots will be picked to soothe Jock egos.
Your national side is better than the sum of its parts because of coaching, not because of stand out individuals.

One must presume you missed the 6N and watch no domestic rugby judging by your clearly ignorant opinions that bare no resemblance to reality.

You seem to think that your subjective opinion should form the basis of the Lions squad. It doesn't. Obviously.

Actually I grew up next to the Gatlands. I have been sending Waz (as we called him) your posts. At this stage he's picking the team specifically to piss you off so he can dine on your delicious tears.

Not at all, all commentators from all nationalities were shocked at some of Gatlands omissions. As to tears none from me as I want the All Blacks to thrash the Lions in all 3 tests and going well so far.

    Ah ok. No tears.

Just petulant, churlish, spite. Equally nutritious.

The fact that I did not miss the Six nations informs my objective opinion on your players.
Don't recall any commentators having a go at Gatland's selections. As I recall, most were supportive of his choices. Perhaps you meant a few former Scotland internationals who were questioned in a provocative manner to solicit the readership with 'gossip'.

Fact is Scotland finished 4th in the 6N and in the game that counted most, against England, they choked, barely fired a shot, and were smashed.

I dare say that informed and influenced some of Gatlands thinking. NZ is the last place you want to tour with players who can't handle pressure.

I backed over 43.5 points and I won because of the last kick of the game by a man who I would ordinarily despise. The English have their uses.

They won 3 and lost 2 beating Wales, Ireland and Italy and losing to France in Paris which they really could and should have won and getting thrashed by England which was due to a dumb yellow card at start of game from which they never recovered still scored 3 tries though in defeat. So using your logic Wales finished 5th yet had 12 or so players in the original squad compared to Scotland's 2 and this is a team whose back row got completely destroyed by Scotland's for the second half, go watch the game or the second half anyway will only waste 40 mins of your life and you will see the absurdity of their being 4 Welsh back row forwards in the squad and 0 from Scotland.
