The Poms were robbed by 1 point by the Kiwis, Sean Johnson's field goal missed!. Posting from my tablet so I can't link the video, but it's on the Rugby League Week website.
Was just reading about that. Optical illusion due to the camera angle and ball movement apparently.Originally Posted by Headworx

I'm honestly not that phased by it either way but I did also just see this:
Michael Burgess: Take your brain out of neutral before debating sport - Rugby League - NZ Herald News
In a nutshell - if it had missed then why didn't the fans/players etc. react accordingly.
^Because in real-time and from anywhere on the paddock or in the stands it probably looked like it was OK, just. Play that video again, particularly the slow-mo final replay at he end, and pause it when the ball is crossing the path of the upright. You can clearly see the post for the entire time. If the ref would have sent that upstairs, it would have 100% been disallowed.
Just saying!.
Honestly not seeing that. This is from the reverse angle:
Granted my vision's not what it was but that's the ball obscuring the post.
^Nope. I just looked at it again and froze it and can clearly see the post as the ball crosses behind it from the camera behind the posts. Even in your small screen grab above it's visible, and my vision is nearly perfect or I want a refund for a few hundred grand from the Bumrungrad eye center surgeon!. Any video ref looking at that footage would have disallowed it.
We are going to have to agree to disagree on this one!
It clearly misses, I've send it in HD.... but England lose so it's all good!
My eyes are fucked but I used Super Squint vision!
And just out of interest could such a thing have been referred? I know the rules in internationals are different from the NRL (I'm assuming they can/do)?
Ps. Bob is Welsh so his opinion is automatically excluded.
^I don't know for certain that it could have been sent upstairs by the ref under International rules, but would be extremely surprised to find out otherwise.
.
^ Speaking of 'International Rules' ...
Players throwing punches in the Four Nations and next year's World Cup won't be automatically sent to the sin bin.
Following a brawl during (the recent) France-England Test in which at least two players stayed on the field despite throwing haymakers, the biff being back became a distinct possibility for international football.

NZ vs Scotland
Great match
Watch a replay if you can
Was blowing a gale, raining and damm near freezing
Aussies and the Poms tonight, round 8pm Thai time from memory.
^Aussie's vs Poms is tomorrow night mate (Sunday), 21:00 start Thai time.
I cannot get my head around why the Kiwis have been so ordinary of late, they're a very strong team that are under performing badly. The halves combo aren't really clicking and Johnson looks like he'd rather be at home for the most part, maybe that's where their problems are starting...
Four Nations 2016: Australia send England crashing out of tournament in fiery affair
Bummer !

^Not really that fiery, but Sam Burgess did get a good right on David Klemmer that opened him up above the eye. Looking forward to the first Bunnies vs Bulldogs clash next season, there'll be some square up!.
Yeah I suppose Burgess can say "well we got knocked out of the Four Nations but at least I got to punch an opponent in the head".
Yes when Klemmer was being help by both arms by a Burgess team mate.Originally Posted by Headworx
