Funny that you City folks still have that inferiority complex regarding United.

I reckon you earned your spurs by now

We will never let them forget that there is only one team from Manchester

Purple nose and his banner are indeed in our rear view mirror

All good fun and a bit of banter at the end of the day.
    Makes the derbys unrivaled.

    ^^ They've also won 7 more 2nd division/Championship trophies than Arsenal.

    One for Chitty

‘After a while it eats you up’: Kevin De Bruyne on dealing with the spotlight, life at home and whether he gets paid too much

Confession. I’m a Manchester City fan. Another confession. Kevin De Bruyne is my favourite player. In 30 years of journalism, I’ve never interviewed a City player. Don’t meet your heroes, they say. The whole thing is discombobulating. De Bruyne – one of the world’s great players – has agreed to a rare interview. But there’s a caveat. If you talk to me, he says, you also talk to my wife, my kids, you do it at our home and you get to know us all. Usually, it’s the opposite – you don’t talk to my family, you don’t come to my home, it’s all about the work rather than the private life. Strange.

We meet a few weeks before the start of the World Cup. He’s beginning to think about it. But in typical De Bruyne fashion he dispenses with diplomacy and tells it as it is. No, he’s not happy about it being in Qatar. Yes, it is a distraction from the Premier League. No, he doesn’t think Belgium have much chance of winning.

its quite a longs one ...so https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/nov/26/kevin-de-bruyne-manchester-city-belgium-world-cup-home-life

Should City buy out Utd and change Old Trafford into to a centre of excellence where Lancastrians might learn diction, table manners and etiquette, I am sure our runway saddle polisher can advise?

Could be basic classes in Scouse as a foreign habit.

Recycling Blackpool as a well recycling dump"

Manchester could be used to fill the ship canal and provide cycle paths so Cheshire's dabblers can make a swifter retreat.

I was thinking the other day.

Are all these empty seats we regularly see at the World Cup to help the plastics players feel at home?

A supporter of a mediocre football team mocking a supporter of a better football team for empty seats......

    Yep

    Makes sense, I guess.

    That's Hal for you

    The new bitters.

All they want for Xmas is £8 billion, a new stadium that's fit for purpose, a giant Apple logo over the Stretford end and a new armchair that doesn't stink of piss

OH MAN CITY, THE ONLY TEAM TO COME FROM MANCHESTER

The premier league is the most watched sports league in the world according to Wiki. I was just wondering, how do people outside the UK decide what team to support ? Is it just a mish mash or do some teams broadly have support from certain regions in the world ?

Liverpool seems to have a big following in Penang , there was even a pub of that name, perhaps tv arrived when they peaked

People of limited education but access to a red shirt love Arsenal Man Utd etc

True Blues may be found globally

Some research suggest support for teams with stripes hoops is related to vitamin 3 deficiency

Children all over the world hate them all as they sit in Sweatshops making the gear while Russian Oligarchs, Corrupt dictators and fat cats laugh all the way to bank.

The old game 11 locals 2 subs maybe allow one without 4 local grandparents and of course minumum wage as the cap.

In that era Danny Blanchflower Jimmy Greaves Cliff Jones Denis Law Bert Trautman played fantatsic matches without a replica shirt in sight just Bovril, cloth caps (anoraks were known only to Innuits), to save drinking time you pissed on the guy in front, much like Australian politicians . Wonderful innit

Haha f-u. I have a couple Man Utd jerseys. They were cheap

But yeah. I don't get how fans from around the world pick a team to be passionate about Since they are all UK based teams.

The top six clubs tend to feed/ encourage the marketing imperative in significant territories. With China, Asia and the US being the most notable targets in recent pre-season tours.

I think you will find dated clothing bank kit on display in most poverty stricken countries. The Man Utd marketing manager will have few problems sourcing replica shirt photos in sub Saharan Africa.
