Fernandinho and Benjamin Mendy are fit for Manchester City’s trip to Olympiakos, but Nathan Ake remains unavailable

The Brazilian midfielder has been absent since suffering a leg injury in our 3-1 win over Porto last month and missed Saturday’s defeat at Tottenham Hotspur with a stomach problem.
Mendy has been sidelined since the beginning of October with a muscle issue, whilst the Olympiakos game will be the second match Ake has missed since returning from the international break with an injury.
“Everyone is fit except Nathan,” Guardiola confirmed at his pre-match press conference, though he expects the Dutch defender to be back in training on Friday ahead of Burnley's visit to the Etihad Stadium.
Sergio Aguero is another player who has been forced to spend time on the treatment table this season, but Guardiola says he has no long-term concerns over the Argentine's fitness.
The Club's record goalscorer was amongst the substitutes for the 2-0 loss at Spurs after recovering the hamstring injury he suffered against West Ham United just three games into his return from knee surgery.
“No,” said Guardiola when asked if he was worried about his striker.
“We want him to come back. Today [he is] training again, we want him to recover a good feeling in his knee.

“This is the most important thing. One step at a time, we have many games this season and we will need him. We want to recover his best condition.”
City travel to Greece knowing a fourth consecutive win in this season’s group stage would guarantee our qualification for the knockout stage of the Champions League with two games to spare.
Guardiola admitted doing so would allow his side to give increased focus to our Premier League campaign over the coming weeks, though he feels it is equally as important this his team rediscover its form in front of goal.
“It's important for the qualification,” he added.
“To win games is important. As we can give this competition until February and focus on other competitions, especially the Premier League.
“But at the same time, we know how difficult the Champions League is. One step at a time.

Yet another penalty for City today.

They get a lot of them for a mid table team, don't they?

Not mid-table any more. Up to fourth place now (if they see out this game) for teams who've played 10 games.

    You o.k Sybill?

City come into the game on the back of a five-match unbeaten run in all competitions. They have won three out of five in the Premier League and sit seventh in the table, with 18 points from ten games.

United are one point and one place above and have won four consecutive games in the league. However, they suffered a 3-2 defeat to RB Leipzig in their previous fixture, which saw them knocked out of the Champions League in the group stage.

Pep Guardiola will have an absence in Eric Garcia and a questionable status for Ilkay Gundogan.
Defender Phil Jones is out and Edinson(super sub) Cavani is questionable for United.
    Prediction
An interesting managerial duel, Pep v Ole is Tactical Genius vs winging it novice.

I reckon City’s quality in midfield will be the difference. Along with a greatly improved defence.

    Manchester City 6-1 Manchester United

City have a chance if Ole chooses De Gea instead of Hendo.

Not exactly a derby to write home about.

I don't think I've ever seen two teams try not to win it since that World Cup where the final group stage matches were played at different times.

Could have been worse I suppose.

All them glory hunters with Fernandes and De Bruyne in their fantasy football teams have come unstuck this week.

It could be even worse if you was a WBA yoyo wanker fan conceding a 26 second goal, a new record?

Another cracking win by the way and, just in case Dil has stopped dropping the soap and can turn his attention away from his latest cockquest, the big gay Brummie bender, that's 4 semi finals in 12 months and yet another away win to add to Ole's record.

None. Not good enough for Manchester United.
